Bowman Motorsports Takes Top-5 Finishes at Florence

Seymour, Indiana (05/26/16) – Bowman Motorsports Dirt Late Model pilots, Cody Mahoney and Adam Bowman, both registered Top-5 finishes on Saturday night at Florence Speedway.

Competing in the unsanctioned event, the Bowman Motorsports team visited Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) on Saturday for the Fan Appreciation and Graduation Night. Drawing a field of 29- cars, Adam stormed to a 10-lap heat race win securing his spot into the feature in his Black Diamond by Club 29 Race Car #77 Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model, while Cody notched a runner-up finish behind Scott James Black Diamond by Club 29 Race Car #4 Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Working into the Top-5 in the 30-lap feature, Cody Mahoney scored a 3rd-place finish behind race winner, Scott James and Duane Chamberlain with Adam coming in 4th and Dustin Nobbe rounding out the top five.

“The car felt really good the whole night,” said Bowman, who turned 21-years-old earlier in the week. “I think we are making major gains on this car, and hopefully a win is around the corner.”

Mahoney was pleased with a podium finish, but thought he might’ve had a car even better than his finish showed.

“I think we had a car that could’ve contended for the win, but the cards just didn’t fall our way,” noted Mahoney. “Sometimes it goes that way, so we’ll move onto the next one.”

The Memorial Day weekend will find Bowman Motorsports entering a pair of events. On Friday night they will enter the first-ever World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series event at Moler Raceway Park (Williamsburg, Ohio), which will pay $10,000-to-win. On Saturday evening they will compete at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) in a Weekly Racing Series Event.
