FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Doug Horton Takes Mike Peters Open at BRP for Big Frog Motorsports Ocala, Florida (04/21/16) – Doug Horton made his debut behind the wheel of the Big Frog Motorsports #58 Dave’s Towing/Rocket XR1 Late Model one to remember as he claimed the $3,000 payday in the Mike Peters Open at Bubba Raceway Park. Behind the wheel of the Big Frog Motorsports #58 Super Late Model, Doug Horton traveled to Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) on Saturday night for the 6th Annual Mike Peters Open. Posting the fastest time in a field of twenty cars, Doug went on to earn the 3rd-starting spot for the feature after capturing a heat race victory. Battling for a $3,000 payday in the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series (UDLMCS) sanctioned A-Main, Horton topped the 50-lapper, picking up his first win of the season in the Big Frog Motorsports machine with Tyler Crowder, Mark Whitener, Ivedent Lloyd Jr. and Dillon Wood rounding out the top five. With Horton’s appearance in the car, many questions have been asked about the latest plans for the team. To dispel any rumors, team owner, Augie Burttram made the following statement. “We’ve amicably parted ways with Austin Kirkpatrick. He’s a great driver and a great person, but we just couldn’t seem to get things in motion together. Sometimes it just goes that way, so we wish him the best of luck. We currently aren’t sure, who will become the full-time driver for the team, but I can say that after his great performance last week that Doug Horton will be back in the driver’s seat at Volusia Speedway Park on Saturday, April 23. We’ll go from there on making decisions. We want to thank all of our sponsors and fans for their support.” The team will compete in the $2,500-to-win event at the ½-mile confines of Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) this Saturday, April 23. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Batesville, Arkansas (04/21/16) - Jared Landers went into battle at his home track over the weekend in the annual Bad Boy 98 and came away a top-five-finish in his Crop Production Services #777 Mark Martin Automotive/Sweet Bloomquist/Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model. Staying close to home, Jared Landers made the short trip to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) on Friday night for the opening round of the annual Bad Boy 98. Drawing 45-cars for the two-day, special, which was sanctioned by both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Landers captured a heat race victory sending him into the A-Main on Saturday night. Jared battled near the front of the field during the early stages of the $20,000-to-win A-Main, before a flat tire forced him pit side. He would rejoin the tail of the field before rebounding to a 4th place finish behind race winner, Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson Jr., and Don O’Neal with Brandon Sheppard coming in 5th. “Obviously I really wanted to win the race, but after having to go to the tail of the field, I’m really pleased with our finish,” said Landers. “The track was really challenging all weekend, and it definitely kept me guessing. We’ll take this solid point’s night and head on to the next event.” Up next for the Batesville, Arkansas-pilot is a LOLMDS doubleheader in Ohio and Maryland. Action opens on Friday night at Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) before heading to Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) on Saturday evening.
