Kyle Beard Finishes 5th at Springfield; Cotton Pickin’ 100 Next

Trumann, Arkansas (09/21/16) – Kyle Beard overcame countless adversities on Saturday night to record a Top 5 finish in his #86 Black Diamond/ Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine Super Late Model at Springfield Raceway in MARS action.

“I can’t remember the last time we had this much bad luck in one night,” laughed Beard. “We had a couple of flats and even had to go to the back of the feature after being involved in a caution. Luckily we had a really good car and were able to bounce back to a 5th-place finish.”

On Saturday night Kyle Beard traveled to Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri), where he piloted both his Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified.

Competing in a field of 29 MARS DIRTcar Series Super Late Models, Beard logged a 7th-place finish in his heat after suffering a flat left-rear tire. After gaining eight positions in his B-Main, Kyle fell back to an 8th-place outing after losing yet another tire, while running 2nd.  Earning a spot in the main event through a provisional, Beard would have to persevere through more challenges. After advancing several spots early in the feature he was involved in a caution, which sent him to the tail. He would rebound to ultimately storm through the field 19 positions, posting a 5th-place finish behind Jesse Stovall, Brad Looney, Justin Asplin, and Scott Crigler.

Following a heat race win from the 6th-starting position, Kyle rolled off from the pole for the Modified feature. Landing a podium spot, Beard notched a 3rd-place finish behind Jackie Dalton and Jody Tillman with Johnny Bone Jr. and Dean Wille rounding out the Top 5.

Full results from these events are available at www.MARSRacingSeries.com and www.SpringfieldRaceway.com .

The upcoming weekend will find Kyle Beard making the trek to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) to compete in the annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100. The mega-event is highlighted by a $20,000-to-win, $1,200-to-start, 100 lap finale. For more information on the event, please visit www.MagnoliaDirt.com .

Swindell Joins Forces With Blazin' Racin' for Select All Star and World of Outlaws Events

Inside Line Promotions - GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2016) - Sammy Swindell is teaming up with the Todd and Susan LaHaise owned Blazin' Racin' program during several marquee events to close the 2016 season.

The team will tackle the final three Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions races - Oct. 8 at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, and Oct. 21-22 at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio - as well as the Bad Boy Off Road World of Outlaws World Finals Oct. 27-29 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

"Growing up in Grand Forks, N.D., less than 200 feet from the now River Cities Speedway, watching Sammy race there and in Fargo, N.D., put sprint car racing in our blood," Todd LaHaise said. "As a sprint car team owner and primary sponsor since 1992 it has always been a wish for us to have Sammy drive our car. This will successfully reunite our general manager Greg McCormick with Sammy and Amy Swindell again, which we are happily looking forward to.

"The Blazin' Racin' team just completed its second full season with driver Dusty Zomer with NO decisions on next year's racing plans to be decided until December. With Sammy's schedule open for these events it provided an opportunity to complete a sprint car owner's goal of achievement. We are NOT going into these races from a career-ending promotional and marketing position. Our position is to provide and give Sammy the best equipment and support necessary to compete at 100 percent to plain and simple go out and WIN!"

Swindell and McCormick teamed together in 2010, which resulted in numerous wins.

"It'll be fun to go do it and jump in another car," Swindell said. "I've worked with Greg before. We've won races together so we'll see where this goes. I'm grateful for the opportunity that Todd and Susan and Greg are providing."

McCormick, who also worked with Swindell's son, Kevin, is excited about the team's opportunity at success during the handful of premier races.

"We're acquainted with each other so I think it will be a seamless transition," he said. "I believe we will be a contender from the first time out."

Swindell is slated to drive for A.G. Rains this Thursday through Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the Hockett/McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Blaney Seeking Trip to Victory Lane This Weekend at Eldora Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - HARTFORD, Ohio (Sept. 20, 2016) - Dale Blaney is itching for a win at Eldora Speedway.

"Eldora is one of my favorite places," he said. "The history behind it makes it special. I haven't been to Victory Lane at Eldora … I can't remember the last time I was there. I need to get there before the year is over."

Blaney and the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored CH Motorsports team will visit the half-mile oval near Rossburg, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday during the 4-Crown Nationals.

"It's always fun to go back there," he said. "It's a neat weekend with the Outlaws race Friday and then we have USAC and the All Stars on Saturday. There's a lot of guys there that you are a fan of and get to watch."

Blaney hasn't visited the Winner's Circle at the high-banked oval track since Oct. 1, 2011. His most recent World of Outlaws win there came in 2004.

"Last year we had a chance at winning an All Star race," he said. "I kind of screwed that up and made a couple of bad laps and (Chad) Kemenah passed me. It comes down to how confident and comfortable you are with your race car. If you can be confident and comfortable getting in the corners you can do a lot of good things."

Blaney has a season-best result of seventh place at Eldora Speedway during four races this year.

He enters the weekend with a 22-point lead in the All Star championship standings with only four races remaining.

Bellm Geared up for Hockett/McMillin Memorial after I-30 Top Ten

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (September 21, 2016) – After a strong top-ten finish against a stout field at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway on Saturday night, Kyle Bellm and the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car team are ready for a big three-day weekend of racing.

And it’s close to his Nixa, MO, home with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in action at Wheatland’s Lucas Oil Speedway for the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

“That’s one we always look forward to,” the driver of the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision entry commented.

Bellm comes off of a strong run at I-30 Speedway that culminated with a seventh-place feature finish aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions entry amongst a strong field of 34 entries.

A solid heat race run from third to second landed Bellm in the Dash, where brake problems led to some quick work in the pits.

“We ended up having to change the rear end, so we had to kind of thrash just to make it out for the feature,” Bellm says.

Bellm then battled among the top five much of the way in the $4,646-to-win Ralph Henson Memorial aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care machine.

“We were fifth most of the way, then I got hung up behind a lapped car and lost a couple of positions late in the race,” Bellm relates.  “It was a good finish against a good field of cars, so we feel good about it.”

Bellm and the Schaeffer Oil/Prater Designs/Racinboys team will square off with a large field of competitors at Lucas Oil Speedway this weekend.

“It’ll help to have a little luck with the draw and with everything,” Bellm says.  “With a large field of cars, we’ll have to be good in everything we’re in, from the heat races to qualifiers and features.  Hopefully we can be top eight in points after the first two nights and have a good shot at $10,000.”

Bellm has made a habit of posting strong finishes at Lucas Oil Speedway in the past.

“We have been second and third at National races at Lucas Oil Speedway before,” Bellm recalls.  “Now if we can just finish one or two spots better this time, that’ll make it a pretty good weekend.”

That pursuit begins on Thursday night.

2016 Quick Stats:  38 races, 1 win, 12 top-fives, 15 top-tens.

Up Next: Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Lucas Oil Speedway’s “Hockett/McMillin Memorial” in Wheatland, MO, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hanks Ready for Return to Lucas Oil Speedway This Weekend for Hockett/McMillin Memorial

Inside Line Promotions - BURLINGTON, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2016) - Brandon Hanks turned his luck around at Lucas Oil Speedway earlier this season.

Hanks scored a victory during a visit in May when the results were a vast improvement compared to several previous races at the 3/8-mile oval in Wheatland, Mo.

"The second-to-last time we were there we won," he said. "We were able to capitalize on some luck, but every trip before that it seemed like we've had generators go out and things happen on the race track. I think that time it forgot which car I was in."

Hanks is hopeful luck will be on his side when he visits the track this Thursday through Saturday for the Hockett/McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

"We had a really good run and the car was really, really fast there in May so hopefully we can find that again this weekend," he said. "I look forward to the Hockett/McMillin Memorial. It's such a nice place. I really enjoy going there. Hopefully we can win one or two of the races. I believe we can. I feel like we have a good enough car. Everything just needs to fall in place and have a little luck on our side."

Hanks has earned a season-high four feature victories this season, including his first career ASCS National Tour triumph.

Dover Rallies From Eighth to Capture Third Straight Win and 13th of the Season

Inside Line Promotions - JEFFERSON, S.D. (Sept. 20, 2016) - Jack Dover produced another stout performance last Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway, where he earned his third consecutive victory and 13th of the season.

Dover kicked off the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints event by advancing from seventh to fourth place in a heat race. That earned him a spot in the feature redraw, where he pulled the highest number - eight - to start the 25-lap main event on the outside of the fourth row.

"I made it up to second about halfway through the race," he said. "I got first place with four or five laps to go. It was so slick everyone was running around the top because there was a good cushion. I went to the bottom and everyone was running the top side. I got in front of the leader and then the yellow came out with three laps to go. I think he cut in front of me and it screwed his entry into the corner. I was able to come out in front of him. After that caution we checked out."

The win gives Dover five career triumphs at the track - all since 2014 - and it marked his eighth win in the last 16 races. He is now only two wins away from tying his season high of 15 victories.

"It's pretty sweet," he said. "It shows how good our momentum is right now and how good everything is working. You have some good guys who were there in Gregg Bakker, Tim Kaeding and Dusty Zomer to name a few. It was a stout field. When you can beat guys like that you know you have something pretty good."

Dover leads the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints championship standings by 115 points with only one race remaining this season. He only needs to show up to the season finale to seal his second straight championship with the series.

Dover is heading to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., this weekend for the Hockett/McMillin Memorial, which features Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour races Thursday through Saturday. He finished sixth at the track in May during his only visit this season.

Hagar Holds Off Swindell for Special Ralph Henson Memorial Victory at I-30

Inside Line Promotions - LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Sept. 20, 2016) - Derek Hagar swept the Ralph Henson Memorial last Saturday at I-30 Speedway, where he garnered more than $5,000 in prize money.

However, just as important, Hagar held off one of the sport's biggest names en route to his 13th triumph of the year.

"We had a really good car," he said. "Whenever I got out of the car and they said it was Sammy (Swindell) we were battling with it made the win that much better because I was able to race with him and come out on top knowing how strong of a competitor he is. It was a pretty special moment to beat an icon in sprint car racing."

The night began with Hagar charging from fifth to win a heat race. That gave him the most points of any driver during heat race competition and a spot in the dash, which he won after starting on the outside of the front row. The dash win put him on the pole for the 30-lap main event.

"A little over halfway through the feature I saw a No. 3 car kept pulling beside me," he said. "He slid me in turn three and I got back by him. Later he got about a half a car in front of me and we drove around him. I found the best part of the race track and we ended up pulling away from him."

Hagar maintained the top spot throughout the feature to record the prestigious win. That gives him plenty of momentum entering another special event this weekend.

Hagar will drive his winged sprint car and he will pilot a non-wing sprint car for David Korte Thursday through Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the Hockett/McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour and WAR Sprint Car Series. Hagar has won both winged and non-wing shows during the event.

"It feels pretty special to go back and know we have a chance," he said. "We run strong there and seem to have good success there. It's now a three-day event. There's more money on the line and maybe it will bring some other cars in. We need to go out there and find our way to the front and hopefully pull off some wins."

Bergman Captures ASCS Warrior Region Win at Missouri State Fair Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - SEDALIA, Mo. (Sept. 20, 2016) - Seth Bergman returned to Victory Lane last Saturday at Missouri State Fair Speedway.

It was his first ASCS Warrior Region win of the season and his first career triumph at the huge half-mile oval, where he took advantage of a little luck to garner his sixth total victory this season.

"We've been in contention to win there a couple of times this season so it was nice to be able to seal the deal," he said.

Bergman kicked off the event by earning a third-place result in a heat race, which locked him into the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 3 to start the main event on the inside of the second row.

"We were up to second and chasing Jonathan Cornell when he had an issue with a few laps to go so that put us in the lead," he said. "I just made sure I hit my marks and was consistent and it worked in our favor."

The win gives Bergman 24 top 10s in his last 30 races.

"We've been pretty consistent, but I'm looking to be consistently winning races," he said. "It's great to get back to Victory Lane and hopefully we can add a couple more this weekend."

Bergman will return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this Thursday through Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the Hockett/McMillin Memorial.

"It's a big event and we haven't gotten the results we've wanted there the last few years," he said. "We have some top 10s at Lucas Oil Speedway, but we're looking for wins and hopefully we can get our first one there this weekend."

Bergman placed ninth during his lone visit this season. That gave him five consecutive years with at least one top-10 finish at the track.
