Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (February 3, 2016) – Kyle Bellm got a good taste of the road in 2015.  Now, he’s ready for more as the beginning of the 2016 season quickly approaches.

After racing to a seventh-place finish in Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour points and earning Rookie of the Year honors in 2015, the Nixa, MO, racer will kick off his second year on the National trail when the series fires to life at Creek County Speedway near Tulsa, OK, on March 11-12.

“I’m excited to get back out there and try it again,” Bellm says.  “We really learned a lot last year, I think we can put that to good use and hopefully post some wins along the way.”

A second tour of duty with the ASCS National Tour should certainly be to Bellm’s benefit.  “There were so many places that we saw for the very first time last year, we will have a much better idea of what to expect this time around and will be better prepared for it.”

Bellm’s No. 14k Sprint Car will be sporting new colors for this year’s action with the addition of Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) as a marketing partner with the Bellm Motorsports team.

“We’re thrilled to have RAMS on board for 2016,” Bellm comments.  “We started as a relatively-small team out here on the National Tour, so to persevere and now join forces with a professional firm like RAMS is a big positive step.”

Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) is a privately owned firm and a premier provider of reliability and engineering services for the utility industry and is expanding operations in the Midwestern part of the United States.

Most recently, RAMS field technicians responded to the call by deploying just hours after winter storm Jonas hit the East Coast areas.  Working alongside utility teams, they assisted in the restoration of power in the Atlantic City area in record time.

Be sure to check out more information about RAMS, what they do, how they support the communities they work in and career opportunities at www.ramsllc-us.com.

RAMS joins a crucial list of marketing partners on the Bellm Motorsports No. 14k that also includes PPG Automotive Finishes, Colorvision, Schure Built Suspensions, Christian County Collision Repair, Bybee Lawn Care, Dynotech Racing Engines, Schaeffer Oil, Pro Designs and Racinboys.

It all begins in a few short weeks with the full ASCS National Tour filled in by selected Regional events along the way.  Check out the full 2016 schedule at http://www.kylebellm.com/schedule/.

Clauson’s “Circular Insanity Tour” Rotates to Florida after Winter Challenge Title

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (February 3, 2016) – Bryan Clauson’s “Circular Insanity Tour” is just barely getting under way.  But the Noblesville, IN, racer is already picking up steam, winning three of five USAC Southwest vs. West Coast features at Canyon Speedway Park to capture the Winter Challenge title.

With a handful of Arizona races in the books, the count for 2016 is up to 11 races in the unprecedented pursuit for 200.

Now, Clauson shifts gears as he makes his way from Arizona to Florida for some winged All Star Circuit of Champions 410-ci Sprint Car action aboard the Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Elk Grove Ford No. 17 this Friday and Saturday at Ocala’s Bubba Raceway Park.

Clauson leaves in the rearview mirror a Canyon Speedway Park that has been good to him in recent years, with the trio of wins over the past two weekends running his CSP win total to 18 since of October of 2011.

“Donny has Knoxville and I have Canyon,” Clauson quipped.  “Now if those Canyon races paid like Donny’s Knoxville wins, we’d be in good shape.”

Clauson opened Winter Challenge in victory lane in the opening two rounds on Friday and Saturday, January 22 and 23 and added a third win this past Friday night.  A move into the lead in traffic was negated before a third-place finish on January 24 before settling for runner-up honors in an epic Saturday night finale.

“We had a great ten days there, that’s a place I expect to win at least half the time,” Clauson commented.  “It’s been really good to me.”

While Clauson made it look easy aboard Mike Martin’s Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Jonathan Byrd’s Restaurant & Hospitality Group No. 16b, there were still some adjustments along the way.

“It had actually been a while since we ran a 360 at Canyon,” Clauson explains.  “We made some changes that really made it quite a bit faster for the last couple of races.”

The Friday night win put Clauson at an unexpected landmark, as he became just the sixth driver in history to capture 100 overall feature wins, joining an exclusive club that includes Rick Vogler, A.J. Foyt, Sleepy Tripp, Mel Kenyon and Dave Darland.  Clauson is the youngest to reach the mark at just 26 years of age.

“I had no idea,” Clauson said of the accomplishment.  “There are a lot of great names on that list, it’s a who’s who of guys that have made the sport what it is.  It’s humbling to be on the same list.”

Clauson went on to say, “I really feel like I’m just getting started.  Hopefully we can keep winning for a long time to come.  It’s special to be a part of the 100 win club, now I want to go win 100 more.”

Canyon Speedway Park’s handful of wingless 360-ci events followed on a 2016 Circular Insanity opener in New Zealand, a pair of Winter Heat cards at Yuma’s Cocopah Speedway and three Chili Bowl nights that included a 12th to fourth run in the Race of Champions, a preliminary feature win and then a runner-up finish in the Chili Bowl championship feature after leading much of the way.

“It probably would have been better if Rico had passed me about ten laps earlier, I would have had a little more that way to search around and figure out what I needed to do,” Clauson commented afterward.

After taking out Chili Bowl vengeance with three Arizona wins to run his season total to four wins in 11 starts, Clauson ventures into uncharted waters as he races with a wing in Florida for the first time over the next pair of weekends.

“I’m excited about it, it’s something we haven’t done,” Clauson says.

While Clauson has turned some laps at Bubba Raceway Park in a non-wing car, winning three times along the way, that doesn’t necessarily translate into an advantage.

“It can actually sometimes be a disadvantage if you go off what you did with the non-wing car, it’s a big difference.”

Following this weekend’s All Star double at Ocala, five nights of DIRTcar Nationals action follows at a first-time venue for Clauson beginning next Wednesday at Barberville’s Volusia Speedway Park.

2016 Circular Insanity Tour Quick Stats:  11 races, 4 wins, 8 top-fives, 9 top-tens.

Up Next: All Star Circuit of Champions at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL, this Friday and Saturday, February 56.

Sam Hafertepe, Jr. Returns Full Time To The Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in 2016

TULSA, Okla. (February 3, 2016) When some drivers sustain injuries behind the wheel, it can take weeks, if not full seasons of racing to bounce back. For Sam Hafertepe, Jr. it took mere laps for the Sunnyvale, Texas driver to feel right at home in the Hwy. 79 Collision No. 15h.

Coming back for the first time with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley's Racing Products at the Outlaw Motorsports Park on July 24, after breaking his arm on May 1, 2015 at the Salina Highbanks Speedway, it was as if Sam never left as the Texas ace smoked the field on a track that rough and on the top, only to follow that up the next night at the Longdale Speedway.

"We won six times in the 13 races I ran for Keith after I got back in the car. You never know what to expect coming off an injury like that and to come back like we did, it was unexpected but we felt like we could win. We just didn't expect to come out that good, that fast," commented Sam.

Looking to the 2016 season however, Sam is fully healed and looking to carry that momentum to a season ending $60,000 prize, but is still keeping an honest look at having to continue building a relatively new team.

"I feel like we are definitely going to be one of the cars to beat, but I really don't know where to set the feeling at for this year. What we did at the end of last year was pretty impressive to me, coming in a knocking off several wins in a row. That's though to do no matter who you're racing and I just feel like right now we're not going to set any goals because I don't know how high we can go right now. It's hard to say if we're going to just pick up right where we left off last year, or go through a lull before we get clicking, but it's always hard to tell at the beginning of the year."

Driving for Keith Dobbs, out of Franklin, Texas, the Lucas Oil ASCS title hunt begins March 11 and 12 at the Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. Looking at the overall schedule however, the Devil's Bowl is still the one track that Sam looks forward to the most.

"Here in this part of Texas is where I started racing so going to Devil's Bowl, I'm always pumped up for that. We're just about always one of the best cars when we go there so I feel like it's our race to lose."

Looking at close to 50 nights on the road, Sam has plenty of experience to lean on, and although still a young man, gives him a well-deserved veteran status in the sport.

"The dirt is different everywhere you go. To me, I feel it plays well into my hands going to some these places that a few of these guys haven't really seen that many times. When we go to Washington, I've been to almost all those tracks. I won my first Outlaw show at Skagit Speedway so even we don't have notes on a few of the places we're going to I feel like we're already prepared."

Going into the 2016 season, Sam would like to thank car owner Keith Dobbs as well as Hwy. 79 Collision, Wells Racing Engines, J&J Chassis, and Keizer Wheels for their support.
