Kyle Beard Records Top 5 Finish; Preps For AMP Openers
Trumann, AR (3/17/08) – Kyle Beard made a last minute decision on Saturday afternoon to compete at Monticello Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas, and he came away with a second place finish.
The team had originally planned to take the weekend off, but they decided around midday on Saturday to take their brand new GRT By Frye to Monticello Speedway to shake it down and get the bugs worked out. Kyle started 7th in the feature event and charged to a second place finish behind feature winner, Dewaine Hottinger.
This weekend, Kyle will invade Alabama and Mississippi for a pair of challenge races between the MSCCS Super Models and the AMP Super Late Models. Action gets underway on Friday, March 21st at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama with a $2,000 to win/$250 to start event. On Saturday night, the action shifts 40 minutes to the west at North Mississippi Speedway in Corinth, Mississippi with a $2,500 to win/$350 to start event. Dusty Johnston Launches New Website; Preps For Batesville
Flippin, Arkansas (3/17/08) – Super Late Model driver, Dusty Johnston, from Flippin, Arkansas is the latest addition to the MSR Mafia and has launched a brand new website at www.DustyJohnston16.com .
In 2008, Dusty is entering his tenth year of racing, and he will be piloting his #16 GRT By Frye/Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine Super Late Model in a wide variety of series and unsanctioned events. He will principally concentrate on claiming the title in the O’Reilly MSRA Late Model Series. In 2007, Dusty won four feature events with the O’Reilly MSRA, earned the most pole awards with the tour, and finished 3rd in the final point’s standings. When not competing with the O’Reilly MSRA, Johnston will compete with various sanctions as well as several national events. Tough Weekend For Billy Moyer Jr.; Batesville Up Next
Batesville, Arkansas (3/17/08) – Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas kicked off the 2008 season over the weekend behind the wheel of his #21jr Victory Circle M1 Chassis by Moyer Super Late Model at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky.
Billy was excited about his chances during the course of the three day March Madness at KLMS, but luck would not be on his side. On Thursday night, motor problems hampered him throughout the program, and he was caught up in an accident in the consolation event, which ended his night. On Friday night, motor problems would once again put a damper on the night, which resulted in Billy falling short of transferring to the main event. Saturday night’s program was nixed by heavy rain.

Jake Tucker Set For SMP Modified Debut at Thunderhill
Collierville, TN (3/17/08) – After a few weeks away from the track, Jake “The Snake” Tucker and Tucker Motorsports are set to return to action with the Southern Modified Promotions (SMP) Open Wheel Modified tour this weekend at Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee
Tucker has already competed in one event in 2008, and luck was not on his side as his night ended with a broken front end in USCS Modified Series action at Checkered Flag Speedway in Hohenwald, Tennessee a few weeks ago.
Tucker Motorsports will look to get the season headed in the right direction this weekend as they invade Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tennessee for the $1,500 to win S.M.P. Open Wheel Modified event. Saturday’s event will mark the inaugural event for the brand new series, which currently has 11 events scheduled for this season.
