Kyle Beard Competes in Winterfest 40; Welcomes New Sponsors

Trumann, AR (2/20/08) – Kyle Beard was in action over the weekend in his #86 GRT By Frye/Samuels Racing Engine Super Late Model at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Tennessee for the 6th Annual Winterfest.

The weekend marked Kyle’s first ever trip to Winchester Speedway, so the team opted to head over on Friday for an open practice session on Friday night.  The team was quite confident after Friday’s practice, but Saturday would prove to be a challenge with totally different track conditions.  In addition to different track conditions, fifty-five of the top Super Late Model pilots from across the southeast were on hand on Saturday for the event.  Despite being behind the eight ball, the team prepared for battled and Kyle timed in fourth in his group, which earned him an outside front row starting position for his heat.  Early in the heat, Beard battled for the lead before settling for the second position, which earned him a transfer to the feature.  Kyle started 18th in the 40 lap feature and at the drop of the green, began his march through the field.  By lap ten Kyle was already up to 12th.  However, as the race progressed the handling on Beard’s car began to go away, and he ultimately retired around lap 30 and was credited with an 18th place finish.  Despite not recording as good a finish as they had hoped, Kyle and the entire team were extremely pleased to make the coveted 24 car starting grid against many of the top Super Late Model pilots from the southeast.

Beard Motorsports will take the next few weeks off as they assemble their brand new GRT by Frye and prepare for a busy season.  At this point, the team is not sure when their next event will be, but they are considering possibly attending the 6th Annual Rebel Challenge at Columbus Speedway on March 7th-8th.  Check Kyle’s website at www.KyleBeard86.com for the latest news and team plans.

Kyle and everyone at Beard Motorsports are also proud to announce that two new sponsors have come on board for the 2008 season.  Engines Inc. and Mean Street Motors, Inc., both located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, are the latest addition to the rapidly growing sponsor list for the talented young driver.

Kyle Beard would like to thank his sponsors including KB Transport, Gary Beard Trucking, Samuel’s Performance Engines, Engines Inc., Mean Street Motors, Inc., Extreme Graphix (Jonesboro, AR), Bill Frye Motorsports, and MSRMafia.com Marketing Services.  Beard Motorsports is always looking for more sponsors, and anyone, who may be interested, can find more information at www.KyleBeard86.com .

Bub McCool Preps For 11th Annual Bama Bash

Vicksburg, MS (2/20/08) – This weekend Bub McCool will return to action in his #57j Trakstar/Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama for the 11th Annual Bama Bash.

Last weekend, Bub traveled to Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Tennessee for the 6th Annual Winterfest, which paid $3,000 to win.  McCool’s weekend got off to a rough start, when he flipped his car in practice on Friday night.  Bub was uninjured but his car suffered heavy damage after a series of end over end and barrel roll flips.  As a result, the team was forced to their backup car for Saturday’s event.  He timed in 4th in his group, which earned him a second starting spot for his heat race, which he won.  Via his heat win, Bub earned a 12th starting spot for the feature event.  At the drop of the green flag, McCool began his march to the front, and was battling for the sixth spot just past the race’s midpoint, when his air filter flew off.  As a result, Bub was forced to retire from the event.

This weekend McCool Motorsports will invade Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama in search of their second feature win of the year.  This weekend’s 11th Annual Bama Bash pays $10,000 to win.  On Friday there will be an open practice session with qualifying and heat races on Saturday, and b-mains and feature events on Sunday.  For more information, please visit www.GreenValleySpeedway.com .

Bub and everyone at McCool Motorsports would like to thank all of their sponsors, which include McCool Logging, Barker Racing Engines, Trak-Star Race Cars, Phase 2 Sign Supply, X-Treme Graphics by J-Rod, Boland Performance, Phase II Graphics, & MSRMafia.com.
