Channin Tankersley Wraps Up 2016 ASCS Gulf South Championship With Battleground Victory

HIGHLANDS, Texas (September 3, 2016) Making his 19th career trip to Victory Lane with the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Southern Trailer Works, Channin Tankersley sewed up second series championship over the past three years in the G3 Boats No. 14 with a win at the Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas on Saturday, September 3.

As it stand, Channin needs only to draw in at Sunday's season finale at the Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas. Trailing only on the first trip around the high-banked oval, Tankersley worked past Tommy Bryant to lead the remainder for his fifth win of the season.

Dustin Gates crossed second with Zane Lawrence third, but the finish for Lawrence would not stand as the Nose Wing was found to be too far forward in postrace inspection, thus handing the final podium step to Ray Allen Kulhanek.
Tommy Bryant slipped to finish fourth with Jacob Lucas fifth.

Caleb Martin crossed sixth with John Pate coming from 11th to seventh. Michael McNeil, Bruce Crockett, and Randy Allen made up the top-ten.

Cornell Continues ASCS Warrior Dominance With Randolph County Raceway Victory

MOBERLY, Mo. (September 3, 2016) For the six time in 2016, Jonathan Cornell was first to the checkered flag with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps as the Kiowa Line Builders No. 28 topped action at the Randolph County Raceway on Saturday, September 3.

Taking off from the fourth starting spot, Cornell gave chase to Randy Martin for only one lap. Taking over on the second round, Martin was able to keep pace for a handful of laps before slower traffic allowed Cornell to lay on the distance.

Slowed twice in the 25 lap A-Feature, Cornell was still able to lap into the top-ten.

Randy Martin settled for second with Taylor Walton posting an impressive run to third from the 12th starting spot. Jay Russell crossed fourth with Evan Martin fifth. Austin Alumbaugh was sixth with Chris Morgan seventh. Iowa's John Schulz came from 13th to eighth with Corey Nelson and Danny Thoman make up the top-ten.

Kyle Amerson Leads It All For First ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprint Triumph

MILTON, Fla. (September 3, 2016) Adding his name to the record book, Alabama's Kyle Amerson made his way to Victory Lane with the Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints, winning the opening night of the Emerald Coast Nationals at Southern Raceway in Milton, Fla. on Saturday night.

The fifteenth overall winner in ASCS/SOS competition, Amerson led non-stop atop a track made rough by rain, with the night's events nearly falling to the ravages of Mother Nature. Saturday was also Amerson's first victory in an ASCS style Sprint Car.

Chased to the line by Michael Miller, the night's podium rounded out with Timmy
Thrash with Butch David fourth and Blake Carrier fifth. The top-ten rounded out with Rusty Sanford, Johnny Gilbertson, Joey Schmidt, Tony Agin, and Brandon Blenden.
