Salina Highbanks set for Lucas Oil ASCS in Oklahoma Open Wheel Thunder Nationals

TULSA, Okla. (August 9, 2014) - The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real returns to competition on Saturday, August 16 at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla.

After two weekends in Iowa competing in the 360 Nationals, Front Row Challenge, and Knoxville Nationals, crews will return their focus on the season championship as Brad Loyet carries the field into the Saturday spectacle that has been dubbed the "Oklahoma Open Wheel Thunder Nationals" with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real joined by the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region along with the Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) and Open Wheel Midgets.

Loyet's best finish at the Salina Highbanks Speedway is third, which the Loyet Motorsports No. 05 has done twice; first on August 24, 2012 then August 17, 2013. Currently leading by 59 markers over Jason Johnson, Loyet has three wins on the season.

Jason Johnson has parked the Stenhouse, Jr. Racing co owned by Curb Agajanian Performance Group No. 41 in Victory Lane twice at the Salina Highbanks; putting history on the side of the four-time National Champion who hopes to pick up his first Lucas Oil ASCS National competition of the 2014 season.

Jeff Swindell Is the series most recent winner at the Oklahoma oval. In what was one the series most exciting races of 2013, the Heartland Catfish No. 94 exchanged the lead on three occasions, including hair-raising passes through slower traffic with Jason Johnson. The Tennessee veteran currently trails Loyet for the series points lead by 138 markers with two wins on the season.

Johnny Herrera holds forth in driver standings. Herrera's best finish of third at the Salina Highbanks came on June 22, 2012, after an engine failure took Herrera out the lead on the closing lap. The top five currently rounds out with Aaron Reutzel who will see the four-tenths mile oval for the first time with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Saturday.

Sam Hafertepe, Jr. is currently sixth. Hafertepe has already turned laps this season at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in 410cid competition with a twentieth place showing. Seth Bergman's last appearance at the Salina High Banks ended in a DNF after getting tangled early on in the night's A-Feature on August 17, 2013.

Matt Covington holds eighth in series standings with is last appearance of eleventh in 2013. Blake Hahn and Tony Bruce, Jr. currently complete the top ten with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Saturday's $4,000 to win affair gets underway at with Hot Laps at 6:30 P.M. (CT). Race time is set for 7:00 P.M. with the OCRS and Open Wheel Midgets completing the night's card. ASCS Midwest Returns to Park Jefferson International Speedway

TULSA, Okla. (August 12, 2014) - Park Jefferson International Speedway will again bring the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Region and the Minnesota Mafia together for a Saturday night showdown on August 16 where the Mafia will try to even the score after Jack Dover bested the field on July 11 for the Midwest Region.

Bringing 21 drivers to the South Dakota oval in July, Dover was able to advance to victory from the tenth starting spot.

Billy Alley currently leads the way in the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Regional driver standings with a 27 point buffer over Jordan Boston. Jack Dover has closed the gap to only 69 points with Danny Lasoski and Jason Martin making up the top five.

ASCS Warriors Invade the Sprint Invaders at Quincy Raceways

TULSA, Okla. (August 12, 2014) - For the first time, the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region will go head-to-head with the Brockway Mechanical and Roofing Sprint Invaders at the Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Ill. on Sunday, August 17.

The final night of a three-day stretch for the Sprint Invaders, the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region will see their eleventh event of the 2014 season on Sunday.

Kansas racer, Jay Russell, leads the way for the Warrior Region with a 33 point margin over Jonathan Cornell who enters the weekend on a five race win streak with the Missouri based region. Randy Hibbs, who led early in the season, sits third 39 points back with Kyle Bellm fourth only 45 points removed from the championship lead. J.R. Topper currently makes up the top five with the Warrior Region.

For the Sprint Invaders, their weekend begins on Friday, August 15 at the Mt. Dew Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa on the grounds of the Davis County Fairgrounds. Friday's event pays $1,500 to win, $300 to start. Lineups are determined by a draw/redraw format. Hot Laps get underway at 7:00 P.M. with admission set at $16 with discounts for Children and Seniors.
