Lucas Oil ASCS season resumes in Oklahoma Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (August 8, 2013) As the focus of the Sprint Car racing world begins to move out of Iowa, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real will begin turn their focus to the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Okla. on Saturday, August 17. A part of the “Turn Tulsa Pink” initiative, Ark Wrecking Oklahoma will be the title sponsor of the Saturday night event. What will go down as the tenth visit by the national arm of the ASCS Nation to the nearly 30 degree clay oval just north of Tulsa, the most recent visit came on August 24, 2012 with Jason Johnson taking his second straight victory at the Highbanks; his first coming on June 22, 2012. Wayne Johnson leads the win total with three straight (5/5/01, 7/17/01, 4/27/12). Jason Johnson and Gary Wright stand tied at two each with Tim Crawley (5/15/99) and Paul White (5/9/98) all claiming victories at the Oklahoma oval. Originally scheduled to be the second of a two day Oklahoma swing, events surrounding the promoter of the Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Okla. have resulted in the cancellation of the Friday, August 16 date. The single day visit to the Oklahoma oval will be paired with the American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region. Coming out the Arnold Motor Supply ASCS 360 Knoxville Nationals at the Knoxville Raceway, 31 nights of racing have been contested in 2013 with 16 different drivers. Johnny Herrera currently holds the series points lead by 17 markers over Jason Johnson. Jeff Swindell continues to gain ground in third with Brad Loyet and Logan Forler making up the top five in series standings. Ramaker tops night one at Electric City Speedway Phil Dietz grabs Frontier Glory Bryan Hulbert - GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 10, 2013) A double weekend at the Electric City Speedway in Great Falls, Mont. yielded two different winners as Phil Dietz led flag to flag for his third ASCS Frontier Regional victory of the 2013 season. The No. 72 crossed ahead of Trevor Kirkland with Friday night winner Joe Ramaker taking the final step on the podium. David Hoiness and Kelly Miller made up the top five. The Frontier Region races again on Friday, August 23 at the Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, followed by the Billings Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 24.
