Forler dominates Gulf South at Battleground

Bryan Hulbert - HIGHLANDS, Texas (May 4, 2013) Logan Forler had the field covered at the Battleground Speedway, leading every lap of Saturday’s A-Feature at the high banked Highlands oval with the Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region.

Taking off from the front row, Forler crossed the stripe nearly a straight-a-way ahead of Ray Allen Kulhanek with Friday night’s winner Johnny Herrera third. Tony Bruce, Jr. who earned Hard Charger of the night climbed from fourteenth to fourth with Aaron Reutzel, from eleventh, to complete the top five.
Josh Baughman earned sixth with Travis Elliot, Brandon Berryman, Tommy Bryant, and Klint Angelette making up the top ten.

Wofford doubles up at Tucson

Bryan Hulbert - TUCSON, Ariz. (May 4, 2013) For the second straight visit to the Tucson International Raceway, Lorne Wofford walked out with the big check with the Hose Advantage Store Southwest Region.
Drawing the number four spot in the night’s 25 lap feature, Wofford grabbed the lead on Lap 6, surrendered the point on Lap 11 to fellow New Mexico driver Rick Ziehl, then regained the top spot for the final seven rounds in the first annual Fight for Air Race to benefit the American Lung Association and Kindred Hospital of Tucson.

Ziehl was second with Billy Chester, Stevie Sussex, and Kaylene Verville rounding out the top five. Joshua Williams, Ronnie Clark, Darrell Sickles, Glen Brace, and Carson Ditsch completed the top ten.

Goodman holds on for Sooner Region victory

Bryan Hulbert - LAWTON, Okla. (May 4, 2013) Taking the third round of competition of the 2013 season with the American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region, Mike Goodman worked into the race lead early and held off a hard charging Danny Wood at the Lawton Speedway.

Challenged in the final laps, Goodman was chased across the line by Wood with Jake Martens third. After a crash on the opening lap sent the No. 23 of Seth Bergman to the tail, the Snohomish, Wash. driver charged back to forth with Alex Sewell completing the top five.

Robert Sellers, Kolt Walker, Wyatt Burks, Matt Covington, and Danny Jennings made up the remainder of the top ten.

Carney tops ASCS 305's in Amarillo

Bryan Hulbert - AMARILLO, Texas (May 4, 2013) Taking a weekend off from the Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region proved to be quite the payday for John Carney II as the El Paso, Texas driver snagged $2,000 at Amarillo’s Route 66 Motor Speedway with the ASCS 305cid Sprint Cars.
Billed as a $1,000 to win show, the winners share ended up getting a boost to $2,000 thanks in part to David Brown’s Sports Center and T-Miller Towing of Amarillo.

Earning the pole for the feature, Carney led the all-important final lap ahead of Larry Neighbors with Derek Drown, Taylor Velasquez, and Jordan Weaver in the top five. Barry Crane, Ty Williams, Preston Peebles, Scott Pace, and Nathan Moore completed the top ten with Peebles earning the AAA Amarillo Glass Hard Charger of the Race, advancing from eighteenth.
