Sean McClelland Muscles to Victory at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (April 19, 2014) - Sean McClelland was determined to win, and it showed in a wheel-to-wheel battle in the closing laps with Dustin Morgan with the ASCS Sooner and Warrior Regions at the high-banked Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo.

Taking the lead after a Lap 21 restart that saw Zach Pringle's machine give up at the green, McClelland stuck low as Dustin Morgan, who restarted fifth, shot to the top side; picking off three drivers to get to second in a single lap.

Side by side for the lead with two revolutions to complete, Morgan worked into McClelland's line of site at the white flag. Showing the Maxwell Oil No. 1 the line, McClelland moved up the track and slammed the door on the Ark Wrecking No. 93 to secure the victory.

Dustin Morgan regrouped to hold on for second with Mike Goodman hustling from eighth to complete the podium. Seth Bergman crossed fourth, after contact with another driver on the start sent the Corridor Electric No. 23 to the tail, with Alex Sewell settling for fifth after leading the first half of the night's feature event.

Matt Ward, Randy Hibbs, Morgan Turpen, J.R. Topper, and Terry Gray completed the top-ten.

The American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region competes again with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Friday, May 2 at the Outlaw Motorsports Park in Muskogee, Okla. The Speedway Motors Warrior Region is in action at the Impact Signs Open Wheel Showdown on Saturday, May 3 at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
