General Rules & Procedural Rules  

General Track Rules
1.cut off time for drawing is 6:15 pm.drivers meeting 6:30 pm
2.all drivers,car owners,or anyone else must sign a release and purchase a pit pass
3.any driver or crew member who subjects any ridicule or bad language toward track officials could be fined or barred.
4.no drugs,or alcoholic beverages,or firearms are allowed in the pit area or on track property
5.the driver will be the sole spokesman on all matters
6.someone needs to stay with your car at all times
7.it is MANDATORY for all drivers to attend the drivers meeting
8.all drivers must help pack the track
9.no work will be done on cars during cautions.if unsafe conditions exist car will stop on front straitaway for track officials to check
10.nerf bars are permmitted in all classes
11.no radio's in any class
12.driver can not enter the same car in two or more classes
13.any unnecessary roughness on the track you may be disqualified
14.slower cars given the move over flag must move to the inside if they don't move over after two warnings they will be blacked flagged
15.numbers must be neatly painted on both doors and the roof
16.no nitrous oxide in any class
17.if you are new to the track or have any questions about your car ask the tech man or track official before the hot laps begin
18.if it is not covered in the rule book it will be looked upon by the track officials & the decision will be final
19.no traction control devices allowed
20.late model stock protest fee is $250 top half ( 1 head )
 
Race Procedures
1.it will be the drivers responsibility to be lined up prior to the start of the race.if the car is not on the track after one pace lap the car will go to the rear of the field
2.the two cars on the front row will have two chances to start the race.the car or cars jump starting will be moved back to the next row & the next car or cars will move to the front row & so on unless non-starts are caused by other cars in the field
3.revert back to the last completed green flag on all cautions
4.any car,which causes two cautions in a race  will be blacked flagged(2 spin out rule)
5.any car failing to follow rules of the track could be fined or barred
6.any car failing to cross the scales as instructed will not get paid
7.all late models must weigh in after timing in
8.all classes(except late models)will draw to determine starting position for heat race how you finish the heat is where you start in the feature
9.no rough-housing or disorderly conduct will be tolerated at any time.if so they will be asked to leave and may be barred for the rest of that night & will forfeit all winning for the night
10.all cars that are ask must go thru the tech line and must cross the scales or they will forfeit all winnings for that night
11.only the checkered flag can follow the white flag except in the life threatening situations or if the racing groove is blocked
12.all starts and restarts will be out of turn four at the cone or line on the track surface
13.all cars must stay noice to tail until you pass the cone on the front straight.if you hit or go below,or pass before the cone you will be put to the rear of the field
14.there will be no courtesy laps given in any race.any time you leave the track you will restart on the rear
15. if you leave the track surface and come back on  you will get your postion back if their has not been a green flag made..
DO NOT STOP ON THE TRACK DURING A CAUTION UNLESS TRACK OFFICAL  STOP YOU...IF YOU STOP WITH OUT OFFICAL STOPPING YOU  .YOU WILL GO TO THE REAR OF FIELD
 
Safety Rules
1.all cars keep it slow in the pits $50 fine for speeding in the pits
2.drivers must wear certified crash helmet
3.firesuits mandatory in all classes
4.neck braces & window nets are mandatory,window nets are optional in late model,late model stock and open wheel
5.all cars must have one working fire extinguisher with working gauge mounted in car & nust be within reach of the driver
6.all weight must be securely mounted no loose weigh allowed in the cock pit,do not mount weight on the bumper,all weight must be painted white with the car number painted on it
7.no electric fuel pumps in any class
8.all cars must have safety loop on the drive shaft and painted white
9.fuel cells must be securely mounted
10.at least four point safety harness is required in all cars
11.batteries & fuel cells may be relocated for safety in all cars
12.no one allowed on the track during cautions or red flags except officials & emergency crews
13.the track has the right to inspect cars for safety purposes & the right to turn car away if it is found unsafe to compete in a race
14.if red flag & red light is displayed cars must stop immediately

Super Late Model Rules  

  • BODY: DIRT/Lucas rules apply.
  • ENGINE AND WEIGHT OPTIONS:
  • Open Motor: 2300 lbs.
  • Open Motor w/steel block 2250 lbs.
  • SAS LEGAL Spec Motor: 2200 lbs.
  • SUPR LEGAL Spec Motor: 2200 lbs.
  • ALL steel motor: 2200 lbs.
  • WEIGHT: With driver anytime. No weight adjustment devices allowed inside car.
  • FUEL SYSTEM: One four-barrel carburetor. Gas or Alcohol
  • WHEELBASE: 104-inch minimum. Measured from center of hub to center of hub.
  • ENGINE SETBACK: Six (6) inches from center of ball joint to most forward spark plug, for all cars.
  • REAR END: Any type permitted.
  • TRANSMISSION: All Transmissions must have forward and reverse gears. No straight drives.

Option 1: American Racer 56. Hoosier 55, 1600, LM 40, and these tires must have a minimum of a 60-hardness or higher durometer reading on the track’s durometer when checked and may be checked after qualifying/races.

Option 2: American Racer SD-44 and SD-48. Or Hoosier 1300, 1350, D-21, or LM 20 tires are also allowed and these tires must have a minimum of a 40-hardness durometer reading on the track’s durometer when checked and may be checked after qualifying/races.

All identification numbers must be visible on front and back of tires. No altering. NO TOLERANCE. Drivers caught with non-conforming tires will be immediately disqualified from that event’s racing activities. Driver will lose all points for that event and all monies and awards for that event. Driver will be fined $500 and will be suspended from competing for one (1) month. Track reserves right to impound any non-conforming or questionable tire(s).

  • SPOILERS: 8-inch rear spoilers on all cars. Spec Motor and Big 10 Motor exception (SAS template): 12-inches of material tall spoiler. Three spoiler support blades are allowed. Spec spoiler blade dimensions are 18 inches maximum in length, 12 inches maximum height, and must taper down to a maximum of 6 inches. No adjustable rear spoilers.

Open Wheel Modified Rules  

1)     North Alabama Speedway is a Non-sanctioned track.
2)     IMCA Modified rules apply with exception of motor claim and line up procedures
3)     IMCA Stamped wheels not required. American Racer tires (G-60 KK704 ) OK
4)     Bert or Brinn Transmission allowed.
5)     $750 motor claim with engine exchange.
6)     Aluminum heads allowed. Must add 50lbs in front of motor plate.
7)     Weight: 2450 pounds after main event.
8).....Quick change rearends are optional : must be steel tubes, hubs, & birdcages
9).....Bead Lock allowed on Right Rear Only

ENGINE CLAIM/EXCHANGE RULES:
A. $750 (U.S.) cash claim on engine, flywheel and balancing plates - $50 of this goes to wrecker for pulling engines.
B. Claim/Exchange does not include - 1. clutch, 2. pressure plate, 3. bellhousing, 4. headers, 5. carburetor, 6. starter, 7. motor mounts, 8. sending units and switches for oil pressure and water temperature, 9. carburetor adaptor, 10. fan and pulleys, 11. clutch ball, 12. clutch arm, 13. throw out bearing, 14. dip stick, 15. water pump, 16. fuel pump, rod and plate, 19. distributor, 20. plug wires, 21. external oil restrictors (must furnish plugs), 22. water outlet and restrictor, 23. valve cover breathers.
C. First three (3) position finishers must report directly to claim area and are subject to engine claim/exchange by any other driver finishing fourth on back in feature that has not been lapped by the third place driver. Failure to report directly to claim area will result in disqualification and loss of money and points. Driver is allowed one claim ONLY per event, regardless of outcome of that claim. In case of multiple claims on same engine, a drawing will be held to determine which driver gets the engine. Should the first eligible driver withdraw his claim, the next qualified driver will be allowed the engine claim. No claims accepted after five (5) minutes have elapsed from checkered flag being thrown OR claim area has been cleared.
D. Driver making claim must drive his racecar immediately after finish of feature, under its own power, directly to claiming area. Highly recommended that only involved drivers and officials be allowed in claiming area.
E. Claims must be made to official immediately after end of feature race, and claimed engine must be completely removed and exchanged by end of event's activities.
F. Claims must be made in writing to track official with $750 cash.
G. Only driver may claim engine and only driver may agree to sell or refuse to sell engine.
H. Refusal to sell forfeits all cash and contingency winnings for feature and any trophies earned in feature. Any driver refusing to sell engine, when claimed within rules, loses his right to claim any driver's engine for the remainder of the season

Late Model Stock Rules  

General Rules:
1. Body: DIRT/MSCCS Late Model body rules apply
2. Wheel base: 103-inch minimum. Measured from center of hub to center of hub.
3. 14" maximum aluminum wheels. Beadlocks permitted
4. Two (2) hardness/tire rule option used.

American Racer: SD 44/48 AND 56. Hoosier: 1300/1350/D21/55/1600 Also LM20/LM40. Must duromoter a minimum of 40 hardness.

All identification numbers must be visible on front and back of tires. No altering. NO TOLERANCE. Drivers caught with non-conforming tires will be immediately disqualified from that event’s racing activities. Driver will lose all points for that event and all monies and awards for that event. 5. Gas only. No alcohol.
6. Engine setback: Six (6) inches from center of ball joint to most forward spark plug, for all cars.
7. Any transmissions must have forward and reverse gears.
8. Any rear-end
9. No traction control devices allowed.
10. No Magneto
11. Any Carburetor
12. No vacuum pumps
13. Rules may be adjusted in interest of fairness of competition.

Engine Option A: Standard Late Model Stock Engine
1. Engines: Chevrolet-350, Chrysler-360, Ford-351 engines. Must be all steel except intake.
2. Engine maximum displacement of 362 cubic inches.
3. Any intake
4. After market water pump (steel or aluminum) permitted
5. Aftermarket fuel pump in stock location
6. Any cam that will pull 17" of vacuum at 1,000 rpm by the track gauge.
7. No after market heads allowed. Stock OEM heads or GM Vortec heads allowed. Steel and straight plug heads only. No GM Angle Plug heads. No porting, polishing, grinding, or excessive deburring in any breathing area on heads. No shot peening or acid porting of heads allowed. Heads may be deburred on outside areas only. May have 3 angle valve job. Can be flat or angle milled. Ford Angle Plug Heads are allowed.
8. Flat top pistons only.
9. Steel valves, rods and crank only.
10. Aftermarket oil pan permitted. No dry sumps allowed.
11. Must weigh a minimum of 2350 lbs anytime.
12. Track Protest rules apply

Engine Options B:
GM Performance Sealed Crate Motors:
GM part number P/N 88958602:
Must weigh a minimum of 2200 lbs anytime.
May run 12” spoiler.
GM part number P/N 88958604:
Must weigh a minimum 2350 lbs anytime.
May run 12” spoiler.

1. These engines are sealed at the intake manifold, cylinder head, front cover, and oil pan with special twist off bolts. Crate engines must not be altered, modified, of changed in any way from factory specification.

2. The sealed engines must remain intact and not be tampered with. Any seals that have been remover or tampered with will make the engine illegal and ineligible for competition. Track reserves right to confiscate engine for technical inspection. The penalty for tampering with seals, modifying any internal engine parts, changing parts from stock as delivered and sealed from the factory will be subject to expulsion from racing in the class permanently.

3. No changes are allowed to the engines. Including Intake manifold, heads, valve covers, front cover, oil pan, harmonic balancer, or any other part(s) on or in the engines.

CARBURETOR
1. One 4-barrel carburetor only. Any Manufacturer.
2. Engine must be naturally aspirated.
3. May use one carburetor spacer, 1 inch maximum, and two standard one piece open hole paper gasket (maximum .070 inch thickness), one gasket between intake to spacer and one gasket between spacer to carburetor.
 
WATER PUMP
1. Cast or aluminum permitted.
2. No electric water pump allowed.

EXHAUST
1. Collection type headers required.
2. No Tri-Y headers allowed.

PROTEST
Protest fee is $300.00 for 1 head and 50.00 to the track

Modified Street Rules

BODY
A.any 1948 or newer sedan or coupe,minumum cutting for tires and air filter
b.stock wheel base
c.stock bumpers in stock location.bumpers may be cut slightly,but no sharp edges
d.must have wrecker loops on front and rear of car
e.all doors must be welded or bolted shut
f.all glass must be removed
g.racing seat with approved shoulder harness required
h.4 post roll cage welded to the frame with 3 or more bars in the driver door.all bars must be 2" or larger
j.unibodies can be tied together
k.car must be strictly stock appearing.minimum cutting allowed for tires and air filter
l.plastic ground effects are permitted
m.pedals must be in stock location
n.battery must be relocated and strapped securely in battery box in cockpit
 
ENGINE
a.362 cu.inch,no 400 blocks; GM Crate 602 Engines are allowed
b.must pull 17" vacuum at 900 rpm by track gauge
c.any flat top or dish pistons allowed not to exceed deck height
d.stock rods,crank,heads,rocker arms,carb.,ignition,and block from the manufacturer
e. vortec heads are allowed
f.no porting and polishing at all
g.stock flywheel,pressure plate,and clutch or torque converter
h.cam maximum lift "450 with .010"tolerance.cam will be checked at the valve
i..005 feeler gauge will be used to check for solid lift cams
j.intake must have stock casting.no aluminum intakes or high rises.
k.bigger valves and springs may be installed
l.no solid lift or roller cams or lifters
m.stock fuel pump in stock location only
n.screw in studs and guide plates are allowed
o.carburator:2 barrel holley #4412 or 1 quadrajet or rodchester
p.no aluminum heads or bowtie blocks allowed
q.can have after market pulleys
r.engine must be in stock location
 
TIRES AND WHEELS
a.no racing tires. IMCA Tires Ok. AR (G-60 KK704) ARE OK
b.10" steel wheels permitted
c.no racing recaps
d. beadlocks allowed on right rear only
e.can run 60 series tires no wider than 10"
 
SUSPENSION
a.shocks and springs must stay in stock location
b.racing springs and shocks permitted.no weight jacks allowed
c.wheels may be reinforced to prevent loss.plating,washers,or double nuts recommened
d.9" ford rear end permitted.no quick change or 3/4 ton rear ends allowed
e.no quick steers allowed
f.stock steering box and power steering pump for that make of car
 
WEIGHT
3000 lbs Minimum


PROTEST
a.any and all protests must be made within 10 minutes of the feature race
b.you must finish in the top 5 of the feature to make a protest
 
PROTEST FEES
a.top half (1 head)$250-$50 to track
b.whole engine(1 head and oil pan)$500-$50 to track

Outlaw Street Rules  

General
- Minimum weight 3000 lbs ( 10 or 12 steel wheels )
- Clip Frames are allowed and must weigh 3,200 lb
- 10",12", or 14" aluminum wheels must weight 3050 lb
- Aluminum bodies must add 50 lbs      example: Aluminum Wheels and Body 3100 lb

Body
1. Any 1948 or newer sedan or coupe
2. Stock wheel base for that car
3. May be fabricated but need to be covered no sharp edges
4. Unibodies may be tied together
5. Body sheet metal must be kept in place at all times
6. Hoods will be pinned

7. No flate sheetmetal bodies allowed.car bodies must be stock appearing.if you run a sheetmetal body it must have factory body rolls built in the body.the body must be made of steel,or aluminum bodys must add 50 lbs

8. After market bodies must enclose back end (between decklid & rear bumper)
9. The rear of the car must measure no more than 42" from the ground to the top of the spoiler
 
Chassis
1. Racing springs and shock permitted
2. No coil overs or coil over simulators allowed
3. No 4 bars or swing arm chassis allowed.no j-bars
4. Large ball joints can be installed
5. 9" floater rearend allowed
6. No quick change rearends

7. Clip Frames on tube chassis are allowed and must weigh 3200 lbs.

8. Tubular top a-arm are allowed9.no traction control devices allowed
 
Engines
1. 362 cubic inch no 400 blocks or after market blocks
2. Any 5.7 or 6.0 steel rod
3. Flat top or dish pistons no engine set back ( # 1 plug must be in front of the ball joint)
4. Any hydraulic or solid lift cam no roller or mushroom cams
5. Roller tip or full roller rocker arms permitted
6. No grind off numbers
7. Any 350 crank with stock stroke(3,48)counter weight must be stock appearing
8. Balancing is permitted
9. No magnetos msd permitted
10. Stud girdles allowed
11. No aluminum heads
 
Transmission
1. Must have workingclutch with one forward and one reverse
2. No direct drives
 
Carburator
1. One 2bbl or one 4bbl not to exceed 750 cfm no predators
2. No alcohol (gas only)
3. Manual fuel pump only
4. Any intake
 
Tires and Wheels
1. 10" or 12" steel wheels 3000lbs
10,12 or 14" aluminum wheels 3050lbs
2. Wide 5 hubs are permitted
3.11"tire width maximum

Protest

Mini Stock Rules  

Strictly stock ...any 2 or 4 door foreign or domestic vehicle
 with 90" to 105" maximum wheel base.....FRONT WHEEL DRIVES OK......... Must have safe roll cage.

TIRES ;;DOT tires only ...must punch 50 hardness (Hoosier medium ok)                                                                   
WHEELS; steel wheels only..7" wheels will get a 50 lbs.weight   break.... 8 inch wheels is ok....10 inch wheels ok but must add    25 lbs. To car......

BODY & FRAME;;;stock appearing..no sheet metal bodies..plastic after market replacement nose and tail OK..must have stock firewall and floor pan..trunk may be hulled for fuel cell. stock frame.

ENGINE;;;4 cylinders only..Stock heads & block. stock intake
 NO porting or polishing on intake or heads ..Stock crank & rods only. Stock stroke.....engine size max:2525cc..   must pull 16 inch vacuum at 900 rpm..degree pulley ok...

FUEL SYSTEM; any stock 2-barrel carburetor or 2- barrel holley carburetor..350 cfm max...MAY run 500 cfm 2- barrel with ADDITION of 25 lbs...GAS ONLY.. 1" ADAPTER OR SPACER OK.. Electric fuel pump may be used on blocks with no fuel hole..you must run a safety cutoff switch...

SUSPENSION; must be stock in stock location..no coil overs
 no wedge bolts... shocks must be in stock location...no adjustable suspension...

WEIGHT; MINIMUM weight 2000 lbs after race.1lb per cc, must claim total cc. Weight must be posted on the car above driver window..or  hood... so scale man can see it..

       Transmission & rear end ;;;transmission must be stock..no   aluminum flywheels..stock clutch & pressure plate..rear end must be stock & it may be lock..

Rules & weight may be adjusted to provide fairness of competition....
