Latest News: July 18th, 2010 - Gary piloted the #33x Pannell Motorsports entry in a pair of events over the weekend. The first event of the weekend was held on Friday at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, Louisiana in a $2,000 to win event, which was sanctioned by the COMP Cams MSRA tour. With 28 Super Late Models on hand, Gary finished second in a b-main event to pick up the 17th starting spot for the feature event. He would battle around midpack for much of the event before ultimately settling for a 16th place finish. Saturday night found the team at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for an O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model event. Thirty-five entries took part in the event, and Gary fell just short of earning enough passing points in heat race action to lock into the feature. As a result, he had to run a b-main event, which he won, to earn the 17th starting spot in the 50 lap feature. Christian would go on to advance from his 17th starting spot in the main event to a solid 10th place finish. July 10th, 2010 - The team was slated to compete in a pair of events over the weekend, but both would fall victim to rain as the COMP Cams MSRA event at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana) was nixed on Friday, and the O'Reilly SUPR event at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas) was rained out before hot laps on Saturday. July 4th, 2010 - Gary entered three events over the Fourth of July weekend in Nebraska and Iowa, and it would prove to be a frustrating weekend for the team. On Thursday Christian entered his first ever event at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. With 25 Super Late Models on hand for the MARS sanctioned event, Gary struggled in heat race action as he only managed a seventh place finish. As a result, he was relegated to the b-main, where he finished second to transfer to the feature in the 18th starting spot. In the main event, he would enjoy a charge through the pack to a 10th place finish. Friday night found the team at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska for an event sactioned by MARS, NCRA, and MLRA. A stout field of 44 Super Late Models entered the event, and Christian would find himself once again battling mechanical issues as he failed to qualify for the feature via heat raceand b-main action. As a result, he utilized a MARS provisional to start the b-main, and would only be able to manage a 29th place finish. The three day stretch concluded on Saturday night at Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa for another triple-sanctioned event. In a repeat of Friday night, Christian would endure hardships throughout the night and had to once again use a MARS provisional to start the feature. After starting at the back, he would go on to advance to an 18th place finish. June 26th, 2010 - On Saturday night, the team traveled to Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri for another MARS/MLRA Challenge event. After finishing 4th in his heat race, Gary accumulated enough points to lock into the feature event. He would go on to record an 11th place finish in the $3,000 to win feature. June 25th, 2010 - Tonight it's fair to say that Gary took a knife to a gun fight as he was forced to take his spec motor into battle with the MARS/MLRA tours at State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri as his open motors are currently being freshened. Being a significant disadvantage on the half mile oval with the under-powered motor, Christian was forced to utilize a MARS tour provisional to start the main event. He would retire early in the event to a 20th place finish. June 20th, 2010 - Gary traveled to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas over the weekend for a pair of O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model events. On Friday, Christian was in action in the $1,250 to win event as 23 cars signed in for battle. He would power his way to his heat race win to lock into the second starting spot for the feature. He would battle for the lead for much of the event before settling for a third place finish behind winner, David Ashley, and Allen Tippen. On Saturday, a $2,500 to win event was on tap and Christian started 14th in the main event. He would battle an ill-handling car in the feature and would only manage a 13th place finish in the final rundown. Complete weekend results can be found at www.SUPRRacing.com. June 12th, 2010 - The team made the last minute decision on Saturday to put their spec motor in their #58x Pannell Motorsports Super Late Model and to enter the $2,500 to win, O'Reilly SUPR event at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. With 34 Super Late Models entered into the event, Gary finished fourth in his heat, which earned him the twelfth starting position for the 50 lap feature. On a hooked up race track and utilizing a spec engine, Christian would be slightly down on power for the feature, but would still manage to advance to a 9th place finish. Full results are available at www.SUPRRacing.com . June 6th, 2010 - Gary was back in action over the weekend in a pair of MARS/NCRA co-sanctioned Super Late Model events. On Friday and Saturday he competed at The Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kansas in a $10,000 to win event. In Friday night's preliminaries, he failed to lock into Saturday's feature, by finishing in the top eight. As a result, on Saturday he had to participate in heat race action again, and he would go on to win his heat race to start 13th in the feature. In the 50 lap feature event, he would mount a solid charge to finish fifth behind event winner, Jon Anderson, Eric Turner, Eddie Kirchoff, and Terry Phillips. On Sunday night, the team traveled to the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas for another MARS/NCRA Challenge event. However, mechanical woes in heat race action would sideline him. As a result he started the main event in his back up car, and made a few laps before retiring to a 17th place finish. May 31st, 2010 - After several weeks away from the track due to wet weather, Gary and Pannell Motorsports finally returned to action over the Memorial Day weekend with two big events. On Thursday through Saturday, Gary entered the 18th Annual DART Show Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri for the first time. Seventy-three of the nation's best Super Late Model competitors entered the event, and after struggling in time trials, Gary found himself behind the eight ball for the rest of the weekend. He would fall short of earning a transfer spot in his heat race and also fell short of transferring from his b-main to the 100 lap feature, which brought his first attempt at a Show Me 100 to an early end. On Sunday night, Gary resumed his pursuit of the MARS Dirt Car Rookie of the Year honors as he traveled to Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri for the 10th Annual Tony Roper Memorial, which posted a $3,000 winner's check. Gary would qualify for the feature event and raced his way to a 7th place finish. He continues to lead the MARS Rookie standings. May 16th, 2010 - Gary's weekend plans fell victim to Mother Nature as all three events were rained out. May 9th, 2010 - Sunday night's Heartland Showdown finale at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri was rained out. May 8th, 2010 - Saturday night found Gary and Pannell Motorsports at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma in Round #3 of the Heartland Showdown. It was a rough night for Gary Christian, who had an engine expire, while leading his heat race. As a result, he had to unload a back up car and utilized a MARS tour provisional to start the main event. He would go on to record a 17th place finish in the final rundown. May 7th, 2010 - The team was in action in Round #2 of the Heartland Showdown on Friday night at Creek County Speedway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gary would lock into the feature event via heat race action, where he finished second in his qualifier. He would pick up a 13th place finish in the feature event. May 6th, 2010 - After several weeks away from the track due to rainouts, Gary finally returned to action on Thursday night at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas for a $3,000 to win event, which served as the opening round of the Heartland Showdown between the MARS and NCRA Super Late Model tours. After finishing sixth in his heat race, Christian was relegated to a b-main event, where he advanced to a second place finish to earn the seventeenth starting spot for the feature event. In the feature, Christian would record a 14th place finish. April 10th, 2010 - On Saturday night, the team made the trek to Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The event marked Gary's first time to ever compete at the state-of-the-art facility. With 60 Super late Models on hand for the $3,000 to win, Lucas Oil MLRA event, Gary finished 3rd in his heat race to lock into the 15th starting spot for the feature. April 9th, 2010 - Gary entered the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model event at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas on Friday night. Twenty-three Super Late Models were on hand, and Gary started the night by winning his heat race to earn the third starting spot for the 30 lap feature. Christian would narrowly avoid a lap one melee that collected several cars. On the ensuing restart he fell into line behind Billy Moyer Jr. and Dane Dacus. On a racing surface that lended itself to little passing, Christian would go on to record a solid third place finish behind event winner, Billy Moyer Jr., and Dane Dacus. For full results, please visit www.MSRADirt.com March 27th, 2010 - The team originially planned to compete at the MSRA season opener on Saturday night at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. However, a threatening forecast sent the team to the World of Outlaw Super Late Model event on Saturday night at Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas. Thirty-three Super Late Models entered the event, and Gary started the night by qualifying 15th fastest to earn the 5th starting spot for his heat race. He would get as high as the fourth spot in his heat race before slipping back to a 5th place finish to earn the 15th starting spot for the $10,000 to win feature. Early in the event, he raced his way up to the 11th position as his car began to really come to him, but a mechanical failure just past the race's midway point left him sidelined with a 19th place finish. March 13th, 2010 - Christian Motorsports traveled to Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee for Gary's first ever event at the 1/4 mile oval. The $3,000 to win event, which was sanctioned by the Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) Super Late Model tour drew a field of 35 Super Late Models. Via heat race action, Gary earned the outside front row starting spot for the feature event alongside pole-sitter, Eric Turner. Turner took the lead as the race got underway with Christian in the second spot. Over the next several laps, Christian would pressure Turner for the lead and would even briefly take possession of the top spot on a mid-race restart before slipping back to the third spot a few circuits later as Brian Shirley drove past him. Gary would run third for next several laps before driving back around Shirley on the white flag lap to record a strong second place finish to race winner, Eric Turner. February 27th, 2010 - Gary opened his 2010 campaign on Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas in the Texas Dirt Track World Championship. The $3,500 to win event drew a stout field of 55 competitors. In heat race action, Gary advanced from the 9th starting position to a sixth place finish. He failed to earn enough point's from heat race action, and as a result was forced to run a b-main event, where he started 5th. He would battle an ill-handling car in the b-main as he faded to a 12th place finish. Despite not qualifying for the feature via his b-main, Christian would receive an O'Reilly SUPR Provisional to start 22nd in the main event. In the feature he would have a much better car as he charged to a great 10th place finish!
