Welcome to the Official Internet Home of Dusty Johnston from Flippin, Arkansas. Dusty has been racing for 10 years and currently competes in the highly competitive Super Late Model division at tracks across the country. In 2008, Johnston will be piloting his #16 GRT By Frye/Kuntz & Co Racing Engine Super Late Model in a wide variety of series and events. He will principally concentrate on claiming the title in the MARS Late Model Series. When not competing with the MARS tour, Johnston will compete with various sanctions as well as several national events.

August 25th, 2008 - Johnston Motorsports competed in a pair of O'Reilly MARS events over the course of the weekend and once again had to battle through a pair of tough nights. Thursday night's program at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky was cancelled due to heavy rains in the late afternoon. On Friday night, Dusty was competing for the final transfer spot in a b-main, when he tried a slide job. The car that he was attempting to pass spun him, which resulted in heavy damage and the end of his night. On Saturday night, the team traveled to I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri for another M.A.R.S. event. Dusty's night would once again come to an early end as a car stopped suddenly in front of him in the heat race leaving Dusty with nowhere left to go. Johnston slammed into the back of the stopped car resulting in heavy damage and ending his night.

July 20th, 2008 - Dusty was in action both nights this weekend in a pair of MSRA/DLRA Super Late Model Challenge events at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. On Friday night, PJ Motorsports would once again battle a broken fuel pump, which would end their night early. On Saturday night, Johnston started deep in a heat race and was unable to advance any positions. As a result he started 9th in his consolation, event and advanced to a 4th place finish. However, only the top two cars transferred so his night came to an end.

July 13th, 2008 - PJ Motorsports set out to enter a pair of MARS events over the course of the weekend. On Friday night, the team traveled to Lebanon/Midway Speedway in Lebanon/Missouri for a M.A.R.S./D.L.R.A. tour event. Dusty battled the motor all night, and finished in the 16th position. On Saturday, the action shifted to Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri for another M.A.R.S./D.L.R.A. Challenge Event. The team worked on the fuel system throughout the afternoon and got the engine running in top shape once again. However, rains set in shortly after hotlaps, nixing the program.

July 6th, 2008 - Dusty was scheduled to compete in two events over the holiday weekend. However, his plans were cut short on Thursday night, when his motor expired during hot laps at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri. Dusty will regroup for this weekend's MARS double header in Missouri.

June 23rd, 2008 - Dusty traveled to Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri last night to compete with the DLRA Late Model Series. His night would be short-lived though as he broke a rotor in his heat race sending him off the track and bending the rear clip.

June 22nd, 2008 - Sixty-five Super Late Models turned out for the $10,000 to win/$700 to start event at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri in the O'Reilly Late Model Challenge, which feature nine different Super Late Model tours. Dusty drew a sixth starting spot for his heat race.  With passing points in effect, Johnston advanced to a 4th place finish at the end of the 10 lap event.  Via his heat race finish, Johnston started 3rd in his b-main event and battled his way to a second place finish, which earned him the 19th starting position in the coveted 51 lap feature event.  In the main event, Dusty would record a 17th place finish.

June 1st, 2008 - The team made the long trek to Byram, Mississippi over the weekend for a pair of Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) events. Friday night was highlighted by a $2,000 to win event. In heat race action, Dusty started 4th and finished in the 5th position. Via passing points he was just short of transferring to the feature event, so he had to start on the pole position for the b-main. He would lead the b-main flag to flag to take the win and earn the 17th starting spot for the feature. In the feature event, he advanced to a 13th place finish.

On Saturday night, 28 Super Late Models once again signed in, and this time the field battled for a $6,000 to win top prize. Dusty would win his heat race and start 5th in the feature event. Johnston would battle in the top ten for the entire event before recording a 6th place finish.

May 25th, 2008 - Dusty and PJ Motorsports traveled to West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri over the weekend for the 16th Annual O'Reilly Show Me 100. Dusty fought an ill handling car in time trials on Friday night and qualified 63rd out of 79 of the nation's top Super Late Model entries. Johnston started 11th in his heat race and would ultimately finish in the 11th position. On Saturday night, Dusty started in the 16th position in his consolation event, and advanced to a 9th place finish. Unfortunately only the top two cars transferred to the feature, so Johnston's weekend came to an early end.

May 13th, 2008 - Dusty has decided to take the upcoming weekend off to prepare for the 16th Annual O'Reilly Show Me 100 at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri on May 22nd-24th.

May 11th, 2008 - Last night at Greenville Speedway, Dusty started outside front row in the heat and ran second to Jeff Taylor for much of the race before passing him with 4 to go to take the win.  In the feature Johnston started third and immediately moved into the second position and began pressuring the leader.  As the race progressed the car got extremely free, and Dusty fell back to 4th, which is where he ultimately finished. After the race the crew discovered that the a shock pin was broke allowing the shock to flop around freely.

May 10th, 2008 - Last night Dusty was in action at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi. He started last in the 4th heat and put a killer slide job on the 2nd and 3rd place cars to finish 2nd.  Via his heat race finish he earned a 5th starting position for the feature. Early in the feature he fell back as far as 11th position, before marching back to the front and finishing a close 2nd to Jeff Taylor. Overall it was a good night for the team.

May 5th, 2008 - Dusty had another tough night at Monett Speedway last night as he battled the tire game all night long since the team doesn't compete in many open tire rule events. He once again fell just short making the feature event.

May 4th, 2008 - Dusty was rained out on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. Last night, the team was in action at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri in a WoO/MARS Challenge event. Unfortunately, Johnston has a tough night. In time trials, he broke a rotor, and got it fixed in time to start at the back of his heat race. He ultimately fell just short of making the main event.

April 20th, 2008 - Saturday night's event at Lake Ozark Speedway was also rained out, so the team opted to skip Sunday night's event at Monett Speedway and head home. The next event for the team will be on April 26th at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri for the WoO Vs. MARS event.

April 18th, 2008 - Tri City Speedway rained out tonight, so Dusty did not get to race.

April 14th, 2008 - Dusty will return to action this weekend in a pair of Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) Super Late Model events. On Friday night he will race at Tri City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois and Saturday night will find the team in action at Lake Ozark Speedway in Lake Ozark, Missouri. On Sunday night the team will travel to Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri for the first event for the DLRA Late Models. MORE

April 6th, 2008 - Due to the large amount of rain in the area over the weekend, Dusty opted not to race over the weekend.

March 31st, 2008 - Dusty competed with the AMP Late Model Series last night at Monticello Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas. He led the early laps of the event, before being passed for the lead around lap eight. He still managed to record a solid 2nd place finishin in his first event of 2008. MORE

March 25th, 2008 - Dusty will once again try to get the 2008 season underway this Saturday, March 29th at Monticello Speedway in Monticello, Arkansas with the AMP Late Model Series. MORE
