The 2010 season marks Crawley's fourth year behind the wheel of the #88 Maxim/McCarver Racing Engine Sprint Car. In 2010, the team plans to once again compete in the full Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car tour, while also entering various local, regional, and national special events throughout the southeast and midwest. August 28th, 2010 - Tim enjoyed the type of weekend on the Lucas Oil ASCS tour that he has been desperately needing. On Friday, he traveled to Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) as the tour made their first ever trip to the oval. With 37 Sprint Cars on hand, Tim won his heat race and locked into the feature event in the 8th starting spot. However, bad luck would strike on the first lap of the feature, when the front row starters got together in turn one, which caused a ten car pileup. Crawley would receive minimal damage and would restart in the 16th starting spot. As the race got back underway, Tim began methodically working his way to the front of the pack, and by the time that the checkered flag flew he was credited with a fourth place finish behind winner, Jerrod Hull, Kyle Hirst, and Zack Chappell.
On Saturday, the ASCS tour invaded the comfortable confines of Tim's hometrack at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. After advancing from deep in the starting grid to a second place finish in his heat race, Crawley started fourth in the feature event. He would chase early leader Brady Bacon during the early circuits before taking the lead in lapped traffic. Tim would go on to cruise to his first Lucas Oil ASCS win of 2010 to the tune of $6,000. The win was his 10th overall of the 2010 campaign.
August 21st, 2010 - Ward Motorsports with Tim Crawley behind the wheel entered a $2,000 to win event at Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi on Saturday night. Fifteen Sprint Cars entered the event, and after winning his heat race, Crawley started on the pole for the feature event alongside Marshall Skinner. Crawley and Skinner would battle for the lead for the entire event before Tim settled for a second place finish.
August 14th, 2010 - Tim took advantage of a week off from the road to compete in a Weekly Racing Series Event at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, AR) on Saturday night. With 20 Sprint Cars on hand, Crawley won his heat race to earn a front row starting spot for the main event. In the feature he would race his way through the pack to claim the feature win over Cody Gardner and Matt Covington! The win was his ninth of 2010.
August 7th, 2010 - Tim entered the Lucas Oil ASCS 360 Nationals over the weekend as over 100 cars took part in the program. He would use Friday night as his qualifying night and would start things by setting the 23rd fastest lap in the field. In heat race action, Tim claimed the win to lock into the preliminary feature, where mechanical issues would relegate him to a 19th place finish.
Via his performance on his qualifying night, Tim was rewarded with a starting spot in a b-main on Saturday night. However, with only the top four cars transferring to the feature, Crawley would finish 11th, causing him to fall short of the starting grid for the finale.
August 1st, 2010 - Tim entered another Weekly Racing Series Event on Sunday night at Double X Speedway in California, Missouri. Tim would pick up a second place finish in the feature.
July 31st, 2010 - The team competed in the Weekly Racing Series Event at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday night, where Crawley powered his way to the feature win, which was his eighth win of the year.
July 30th, 2010 - Tim resumed action with the Lucas Oil ASCS tour on Friday night at LA Raceway in La Monte, Missouri as 44 entries were on hand for the event, which was also sanctioned by the WOW tour. Tim would find himself behind the eight ball after struggling in heat race action. As a result he started deep in the starting grid in a b-main event. Despite starting near the back, he would march his way forward to a 2nd place finish, which earned him the twentieth starting spot for the main event. In the 30 lap, $6,000 to win feature event Crawley would race through the pack to an 11th place finish.
July 24th, 2010 - Tim entered a pair of Lucas Oil ASCS events over the weekend at Cottage Grove Speedway in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Thirty-nine entries were on hand for the first night of the event on Friday, and after finishing second in his heat race, Tim locked into the main event. He would go on to battle his way to a 7th place finish in the 30 lap, preliminary feature.
On Saturday night, a $6,000 to win event was held and Crawley fell just short of locking into the main event via heat race action, and as a result was forced to run a b-main, which he won to earn the 18th starting spot for the 35 lap feature. In the main event, Tim advanced seven spots to an 11th place finish.
Tim currently sits 5th in the latest Lucas Oil ASCS standings.
July 18th, 2010 - The team made another long tow over the weekend as they entered the Fred Brownfield Memorial at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington. On Friday night Fifty-eight Sprint Cars entered the ASCS sanctioned event, and Tim locked into the feature via heat action. He would go on to score a 17th place finish in the final rundown in the main event.
On Saturday night, a fresh event was held at Grays Harbor Raceway. Tim would win his b-main to earn a starting position in the feature event. Despite starting deep in the field, he would battle his way to a solid 9th place finish by the time that the checkered flag dropped on the finale.
July 10th, 2010 - Tim and Ward Motorsports made the long trek to I-90 Speedway in Hartford, South Dakota on Saturday night for a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event. The night would turn out to be a frustrating outing for the team as Tim was running ninth in the feature when he was collected by a flipping Austen Wheatley. Before the race could be restarted, heavy rains nixed the balance of the feature and Tim was scored with a 24th place finish.
July 5th, 2010 - It was a busy fourth of July weekend for Tim Crawley as he entered four events in four nights aboard the J&D Motorsports entry, which carried a special #99 graphics' scheme in honor of Hooker Hood.
On Thursday night, the weekend kicked off at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas with the Triple Crown Challenge. Tim was in action in three divisions for the event as he chased the $10,000 prize for winning the Sprint Car, Open Wheel Modified, and Street Stock features. Unfortunately his chances at the bonus would come to an early end, when he finished third in the Street Stock feature.
In the Open Wheel Modified division, he would battle mechanical woes throughout the night, and would ultimately retire early to a 23rd place finish.
In the USCS Sprint Car division, Tim started second on the grid next to Jeff Swindell, and would take the lead early in the event and would never look back on his way to the $2,000 win.
On Friday, the team traveled to Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri. With 19 Sprint Cars on hand, Tim won his heat race, and then proceeded to race his way to his second straight USCS Sprint Car win in as many nights as he claimed the victory over Lee Sowell.
Saturday found Tim at the highbanks of Thunderhill Speedway in Summertown, Tennessee for another $2,000 to win, USCS Sprint Car event. After starting third in the feature, Crawley chased leader, Terry Gray, during the early stages of the event before taking over the lead on lap nine. He would never look back on his way to the win.
On Sunday night the team concluded their weekend at Camden Motor Speedway in Camden, Tennessee. After finishing second in his heat race, Tim would battle his way to a third place finish behind winner, Marshall Skinner, and Jeff Swindell.
June 26th, 2010 - After a tough outing two weeks ago, Tim and the team were looking for a rebound this weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri as the Lucas Oil ASCS tour returned to action with the Daniel McMillin/Jesse Hockett Memorial. Fifty-one Sprint Cars entered the event, and Tim started the night by winning his heat race to lock into the feature. Tim would battle in the top five for most of the event before scoring a fourth place finish behind event winner, Zach Chappell, Jack Dover, and Shane Stewart
June 13th, 2010 - It was a rough weekend for Tim and Ward Motorsports as they made the long tow to Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Nebraska for the two day Eagle Nationals, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS). On Friday night, a field of 43 Sprint Cars was on hand, and Tim qualified for the feature event on an extremely fast, rough track. He was battling in the top ten on lap eight when Austen Wheatley spun in front of him, leaving Tim with nowhere to go. Crawley would do a slow roll over flip, which brought his night to an end.
On Saturday night, Crawley would not find him luck much better as he would jump the cushion on the sixth lap of his heat race and would flip hard into the turn four wall. He would be uninjured, but the same could not be said for the car. He would be forced to utilize a provisional to start the 30 lap, $6,000 to win feature. After starting 23rd, he advanced to a 13th place finish.
June 5th, 2010 - Tim returned to action with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series on Saturday night at his home track, I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas as 41 cars entered the event. After finishing second in his heat race, Tim locked into the 11th starting spot in the 35 lap feature. In the first ten laps, Tim would work his way up to the sixth position as he began to pressure the top five runners. He would crack the top by the race's midway point, and advanced as high as the third spot before picking up a fourth place finish.
June 3rd, 2010 - Another great night for Tim and Ward Motorsports on Thursday night at Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas for Round #4 of the 2010 USCS Speedweek. After starting 3rd in his heat race, Tim won it in dominating fashion to start fourth in the feature. Early in the event, Crawley would jump to the third spot behind Lee Sowell and Terry Gray. By the race's midway point Lee Sowell was the new leader, and Crawley set in second behind him. Lap 24 would see Tim utilize the low line to overtake Sowell for the lead, and he never looked back on his way to the $2,000 victory, which marked his fourth of the season.
May 31st, 2010 - It was a busy Memorial Day weekend for Tim Crawley that saw him compete in Kansas and Tennessee. On Saturday night, he entered the first night of the 2nd Annual Steve King Memorial at Jetmore Motorplex in Jetmore, Kansas. Forty-seven Sprint Cars were on hand, and after winning his heat race, Tim locked into the 8th starting position for the 25 lap feature. He would work his way through the field to record a second place finish to Brady Bacon, which allowed him to lock into the main event on Saturday night.
On Sunday night in the redraw, Tim pulled the pole position as he and Bacon set on the front row for the 40 lap finale. Bacon got the wholeshot on Crawley and led the first 17 laps before Tim passed him in lapped traffic for the lead. Unfortunately the caution flag would wave for a spin, which negated the pass, putting Crawley back in second. Tim would pressure Bacon for the next several laps before Jason Johnson would slip by Crawley to take over the second spot. Tim went on to record a third place finish.
Monday night found the team making the long tow to Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee for Round #3 of the USCS Sprint Car Speedweek. With 30 entries in action, Tim struggled in his heat race, which relegated him to starting deep in the field in the b-main. He would charge through the field in the consolation event to finish second, which earned him the 16th starting spot for the 30 lap feature. In the $2,000 to win event, Tim mounted another strong charge to the front, and by the time that the checkered flag dropped he was credited with a 4th place finish behind race winner, Marshall Skinner, Brad Bowden, and Jeff Swindell.
May 22nd, 2010 - Tim and Ward Motorsports had another awesome outing tonight at I-30 Speedway as he won his heat race and then went on to take the feature win over Cody Gardner and Justin Sturch. The win was his third of the 2010 season.
May 8th, 2010 - Tim used his 360 c.i. engine to conquer the 410 c.i. competitors in the Sprint Bandit TNT Sprint Car event at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday night. Twenty-eight wingless warriors entered the $3,000 to win event, and Tim started the night by earning the most passing points in his group in heat race action by charging from the fourth starting spot to take the win. Via the inversion he started 6th in his qualifier and went on to win it as well. After accumulating the most passing points between his heat and qualifier, Tim earned the pole starting position for the 30 lap feature alongside Ray Allen Kulhanek. Tim snared the lead at the drop of the green flag and went on to take the uncontested win, which was worth $3,000 and was his second win of the season!
April 24th, 2010 - The weekend's Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Series events at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas were postponed by Mother Nature, so Tim did not race anywhere this weekend.
April 17th, 2010 - Tim made the trip to Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night for a Weekly Racing Series Event and to do some testing for the upcoming Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour weekend at the facility. Twenty-five Sprint Cars entered the event, and in heat race action Tim advanced from the 5th starting spot to a 3rd place finish to earn the 9th starting spot for the 20 lap feature. By feature time the race track had become predominantly one groove around the bottom and early in the feature Tim tried to make a move on the top side only to spin. As a result, he went to the back of the pack and managed to rebound to a 9th place finish by the time that the checkered flag dropped.
April 10th, 2010 - On Saturday night, Crawley returned to familiar territory as he invaded his home track, I-30 Speedway, for the second night of a Lucas Oil ASCS double header. Fifty-three Sprinters entered the event, and Tim started the night by winning his heat race. Via passing points, Crawley started outside front row for the 35 lap affair. Tim would bolt to the lead at the start of the feature and would lead the first 13 laps before the handling began to go away on his entry as he slipped to a 4th place finish behind event winner, Zach Chappell, Brady Bacon, and Jessee Hockett.
April 9th, 2010 - Tim returned to action with the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series on Friday night at Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas. Fifty-two Sprint Cars entered the event, and in heat race action he finished in the third position. He failed to earn enough passing points to lock into the feature event, so he was relegated to a b-main event, where he raced his way to a 3rd place finish, which gave him the final transfer spot for the feature. During the course of the feature, he would advance his way from his 22nd starting spot to a 12th place finish.
March 27th, 2010 - The team made the trek to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi over the weekend for a pair of USCS Sprint Car Series events. A stout field of thirty Sprint Cars entered the events each night. On Friday night, Tim won the first heat race and accumulated the most passing points along the way to earn the pole position for the feature event. After a spirited battle for the lead with Jason Sides, Crawley would ultimately settle for a second place finish.
On Saturday night, Tim would improve his finishing position by one spot as he powered the #88 Ward Motorsports/Maxim/David McCarver Racing Engine Sprinter to the feature win, which was his first of the 2010 season! Crawley chased Friday night's feature winner, Jason Sides, for the first 23 laps before racing around him in turns three and four. He would go on to lead the final seven laps en route to the win.
March 20th, 2010 - Ward Motorsports with Tim Crawley behind the wheel entered their first event of the year on Friday night at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas for the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Season opener. A stellar field of 67 Sprint Car entered the event, in heat race action Tim would battle mechanical woes to a 9th place finish. Via his heat race finish, he was relegated to starting deep in a b-main event. He would charge to a 6th place finish during the course of the event, which left him just short of transferring to the main event. With Shane Stewart and Gary Wright having to utilize provisionals to start the main event, Crawley was unable to start via a provisional, and his night came to an early end.
Saturday night's scheduled program at Devil's Bowl Speedway was canceled due to inclement weather, so the team made the trek to Malden Speedway in Malden, Missouri for the $2,000 to win USCS Midsouth Region opener, where Crawley would race his way to a 10th place finish.
March 13th, 2010 - Tim entered the Mini Sprint Nationals over the weekend at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. Over 70 Mini Sprints from across the country entered the three day event. On Thursday night, Tim transferred to the feature via heat race and qualifier action and would go on to finish in the 11th position.
Friday night found Crawley in action again in the #42 McCord Motorsports entry, and he would once again qualify for the feature event and would race his way to a solid 8th place finish.
On Saturday night the event wrapped up with a $9,000 to win finale and Crawley raced his way into the coveted main event, where he recorded an 11th place finish.
Next on tap for the team will be the 37th Annual Winternationals at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series tour.
January 16th, 2010 - Crawley entered the final night of the 24th Annual Chili Bowl on Saturday night. Via points accumulated on his qualifying night, he started second in one of the twin c-main events. He would go on to pick up the second place finish to earn the 16th starting position for one of the b-main events. Early in the b-main, Tim's luck would take a turn for the worse as he got upside down. He was able to restart, but had to go to the back of the pack. He would only manage a 14th place finish, and with only the top six transferring to the feature, his weekend came to an early end.
January 13th, 2010 - Tim opened the 2010 season on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 24th Annual Chili Bowl at the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. With 63 entries on hand, Crawley powered the #05c Loyet Motorsports entry to a starting position for the qualifying feature. He would race his way to an 11th place finish in the qualifying feature, which left him short of locking into Saturday night's feature, but allowed him to gain important points, which will him to have a better starting spot in Saturday's last chance qualifying events.
