Eric Cooley's 2009 Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer

June 27th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports continued their momentum tonight at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi as he won the NeSmith Weekly Crate Late Model Series feature event over a field of 13 competitors!

June 20th, 2009 - Eric entered a Weekly Racing Series Event on Saturday night at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, Mississippi. After setting quick time in time trials and winning his heat race, Eric would best a field of eleven NeSmith Crate Late Models to take the win, which was his seventh of the 2009 season. He was followed across the finish line by Mark Stokes and Wayne Beckwith.

June 14th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports had another busy weekend of NeSmith Late Model Series action. The festivities got underway on Friday night with a $2,000 to win, 40 lap event at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The event drew 20 cars, and Eric qualified 10th fastest. He would go on to win his qualifier, which earned him the 8th starting position for the main event. In the feature, passing would be extremely difficult, and Eric would only be able to advance one position to a 7th place finish.

Saturday night found the team in action at Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi in another NeSmith Late Model Series event. The $2,500 to win, 50 lap event drew 23 cars, and Eric qualified 11th fastest overall. In qualifier action, he finished 2nd, which locked him into the 9th starting position for the feature. In the main event, Eric would have a great setup on his mount and raced his way to a 3rd place finish behind Mike Boland and David Gentry.

On Sunday night the team was slated to compete at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi, but heavy rains forced the cancellation of the event.

June 7th, 2009 - Eric pulled double duty on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. In the Crate Late Model division, Cooley advanced from his 9th starting position to finish 3rd, which earned him the sixth starting position for the 15 lap main event. After slipping back in the field early in the feature, he rebounded to a 3rd place finish in the 21 car field.

In the Late Model Stock division, Eric won his heat race, and started on the pole in the feature. He would lead the early stages before falling back to the third spot as the race approached its midpoint. However, by lap eight, he had regained his momentum and overtook Tony Shelton for the lead. Cooley went on to lead the last seven laps en route to the win.

On Friday night, Cooley Motorsports traveled to Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to do some testing for the upcoming NeSmith Late Model Series events. After starting in the rear of his heat race, Eric advanced to a third place finish, which earned him the 6th starting spot for the feature. The main event presented the racers with a one lane race track and Cooley would only be able to manage a 4th place finish.

May 30th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports competed in the second night of the NeSmith Late Model Series weekend doubleheader at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama tonight. With 37 Crate Late Models signed in for action, Eric qualified in 12th fastest. In heat race action, he would pick up a second place finish, which gave him the 12th starting position for the feature event. In the feature, Eric would charge his way to a 5th place finish. With another top five finish, Eric is now the NeSmith Late Model Series points' leader!

May 29th, 2009 - Eric was in action tonight at Penton Raceway in Penton, Alabama with 32 Crate Late Models signed in for the $2,000 to win event. He locked into the feature event in the 4th starting position after posting the 4th fastest time in qualifying. In the feature, he would battle in the top 5 throughout the event, before posting a 4th place finish.

May 24th, 2009 - After having the weekend's NeSmith triple header nixed by heavy rains throughout the Southeast, Cooley Motorsports decided to compete on on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi in his Crate Late Model and Late Model Stock. In the Crate Late Model division, Eric started 3rd and finished 3rd, resulting in him starting 7th in the main event. In the feature, he would rocket his way to the lead and never look back on his way to the win. In the Late Model Stock division, Eric won his heat race and started outside front row for the feature event. He would take control of the lead at the drop of the green flag and would go on to lead all 15 laps on his way to the win!

May 17th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports was in action on Friday night at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, Mississippi in the Crate Late Model division. With 14 cars on hand, Eric set fast time in qualifications. In his heat race, he started 3rd, and made the winning pass exiting turn four on the final lap to take the win and earn the pole for the feature. In the main event, he led all 20 laps to take the feature win!

May 2nd, 2009 - The team competed in the second night of the NeSmith Late Model Series weekend at Whynot Motorsports Park tonight, and Eric would come away with another great finish. Forty Crate Late Models were on hand for the $2,500 to win event. In time trials, Eric would qualify second fastest, which earned him the second starting spot for the 50 lap feature. He would battle the early leader, Larry Murphy, before taking over the top spot on lap seven. Eric would go on to lead the next 12 laps before Justin McRee raced past him for the top spot as the field completed lap 20. He would fall back to the third position in the race's midstages as Mike Boland raced his way past him. Cooley would get back to the second spot on lap 44 when Justin McRee jumped the cushion. Eric pressured Boland for the last six laps for the lead, but came up a little short at the checkered flag as he recorded a second place finish. With the finish, Eric is now 2nd in the NeSmith Late Model Series point standings behind David Gentry.

May 1st, 2009 - Eric entered the Dasani Water 40 tonight at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. The $2,000 to win event, which was sanctioned by the NeSmith Late Model Series drew 51 cars, and Eric qualified in the 5th fastest overall. Cooley recorded a 2nd place finish in his heat race, which earned him the 9th starting spot for the main event. In the feature he would race his way to an 8th place finish. In addition, he would move up to the third position in NeSmith Series points behind leader, David Gentry, and Larry Boutwell.

April 25th, 2009 - On Saturday night, Cooley Motorsports competed at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. He qualified 8th out of 25 cars in time trials and finished 3rd in his heat race, which resulted in him starting 8th in the feature event. In the feature, Eric battled an ill-handling car home to a 7th place finish.

April 24th, 2009 - Eric raced for the first time ever tonight at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas in his #33c Crate Late Model. In his heat race he started on the pole and fell back to the third position early in the feature. However, by lap three he had raced his way back to the lead and went on to take the heat race win. The four inversion pill was drawn for the feature, so he started fourth in the feature event, and he would battle good friend, Ben McCreary for the lead for the entire feature before settling for a second place finish.

April 18th, 2009 - The NeSmith Late Model Series invaded Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi last night for a $2,000 to win event, and Eric went head to head with 38 competitors. He qualified 20th in the trials. In heat race action he finished 5th, which sent him to a b-main event. In the b-main event, he claimed the third and final transfer to the feature. He would start 22nd in the feature event, and mounted a strong run to an 11th place finish in the feature. For his efforts he earned the Sunoco Race Fuels Hard Charger honors! Saturday night's NeSmith event at Magnolia Motor Speedway was rained out. He is currently 5th in the NeSmith Late Model Series point standings.

April 11th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports entered the 8th Annual Brown Engineering Rebel Challenge over the weekend at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. With 35 Crate Late Models on hand for the $2,000 to win event, Eric started 3rd in his heat race and won it to earn the pole position for Saturday night's finale. He would slip to the third spot early in the race before rebounding to a solid, second place finish behind winner, Ray Cook.

April 4th, 2009 - Eric picked up his second feature win in the Late Model Stock division in as many nights as he won again tonight at Magnolia Motor Speedway over a field of 16 entries. In the Crate Late Model division, he turned in another strong performance as he recorded a 3rd place finish in the feature against a field of 24 competitors.

April 3rd, 2009 - Eric picked up his first win of 2009 tonight at Magnolia Motor Speedway in his #33c Late Model Stock over a field of 14 cars. In the Crate Late Model divisions, he drove his #33c Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer to a 5th place finish against a 21 car field.

March 29th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports raced tonight at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi in the Crate Late Model division and Late Model Stock division. With 35 Crate Late Models on hand, he raced his way to a 4th place finish after starting 3rd in the feature. In the Late Model Stock feature, Eric struggled early in the evening and started 16th in the twenty-four car starting grid for the main event. He would have a much better race car for the feature and would rocket his way to a 5th place finish!

March 23rd, 2009 - Eric competed in a pair of Crate Late Model events over the weekend in the state of Alabama. On Friday night he invaded Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama for the Top Tracks Challenge. He was greeted by a field of 50 Crate Late Model, who like Eric, were looking to get track time in preparation for the upcoming weekend's Crate National Championship. Cooley qualified 19th and started 3rd in the first qualifier. Eric would battle for the final transfer spot, but finished in the 4th position, which resulted in him missing the transfer by one spot, which brought his night to an early end.

On Saturday, he traveled to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama for a weekly racing series event. He drew the 7th starting position for his heat race and advanced to a 5th place finish. Via his heat race finish, he earned the 13th starting spot for the main event. He would mount a solid charge to the front and when the checkered flag flew he was credited with a 3rd place finish!

March 7th, 2009 - Eric competed tonight in the season opener at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Eric started 5th in his heat and charged to the win, which earned him the pole for the feature event. In the feature, he ran second for the first few laps before taking over the top spot. One later the caution would fly, and on the ensuing restart he would hit a hole causing him to fall back to the second position. The following lap, Cooley would hook another hole, which caused him to spin with front end damage on his #33c mount. He would ultimately retire to a 9th place finish in the NeSmith Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Model feature.

February 21st, 2009 - Tonight was the final leg of the NeSmith triple header at East Bay. Eric qualified 9th out of 49 entries, which earned him a third starting position in a qualifier. He would finish in the fourth position, which forced him to the b-main event where he finished 7th, which was short of a transfer spot. As a result, he was forced to used a provisional for the main event. Despite starting at the back of the field, Eric would make noise in the feature as he advanced to a 13th place finish in the 40 lap event. After the weekend, Eric is currently tied for 3rd in the National NeSmith Late Model standings.

February 20th, 2009 - Eric competed in the second leg of the NeSmith Late Model series event tonight at East Bay Raceway Park. 47 Crate Late Models were on hand to battle in the big event. Cooley qualified 7th in the 47 car field, which once again earned him a front row starting position for his qualifer, where he recorded a second place finish, and started 11th in the feature. In the main event, Eric would race his way to a 12th place finish by the time that the checkered flag fell on the 40 lap event..

February 19th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports competed in night #1 of the triple header with the NeSmith Late Model Series at East Bay Raceway Park tonight. With 44 entries on hand, Eric qualified 12th in his group, which earned him a front row starting position for his qualifier. He finished 2nd in the qualifier and started 12th in the main event. In the feature, Eric would get his #33c Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer Chassis dialed in and charged his way to a 6th place finish against a talented field of competitors!

February 1st, 2009 - Eric debuted his brand new #33c Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer entry at the 9th Annual Winter Classic at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday, January 31st with the NeSmith Crate Late Model Series. Eric had the disadvantage of qualifying early in time trials when the track was much slower. As a result he qualified 17th out of the 53 entries on hand. As a result, Eric started 3rd in a last chance qualifier. He would battle his way to a 3rd place finish, which earned him the 17th starting position for the 40 lap main event. On a racey, slick surface, Eric would methodically race his way to an 8th place finish in the feature event. After Columbus, Eric currently is 12th in the latest NeSmith National Point Standings.

January 5th, 2009 - Cooley Motorsports competed at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama over the weekend in the 18th Annual Ice Bowl. With 87 teams signed in to do battle Eric struggled in time trials and qualified 10th in his group. This put him behind the eight ball and forced him to start 10th in a very competitive heat race. He would advance to a 5th place finish, which earned him a 6th starting position for his b-main event. In the b-main, he would race his way to the 3rd position, but with only the top two cars transferring to the feature, his weekend came to an end.

December 28th, 2008 - With the last event of 2008, just two weeks in the books, Cooley Motorsports is preparing for the 2009 season. Eric will once again pursue the NeSmith Late Model series National Title, and his quest will begin January 1st-4th at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama for the 18th Annual Ice Bowl. An Open practice session will be held on Friday, January 2nd with qualifications and heat race action on Saturday. On Sunday b-mains and the main event will be held.

November 29th, 2008 - Eric was slated to be in action over the weekend at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi in the final Nesmith Late Model Series point's event of 2008, but Mother Nature had different ideas, and the race was rained out and will not be rescheduled. Eric ends 2009, 7th in the final NeSmith Late Model Series National point standings and 3rd in the 2008 Nesmith Rookie of the Year points.

November 9th, 2008 - Cooley Motorsports returned to action on Saturday night at Avenger Speedway in Greenville, Alabama with the NeSmith Late Model Series. With 33 Crate Late Models on hand, Eric qualified 22nd. He would go on to finish 4th in his qualifier, which earned him an 18th starting position for the 40 lap feature. During the course of the main event, Eric worked his way to a 10th place finish, in his first ever visit to the facility. Making Eric's finish even more impressive was the fact that he broke his thumb on lap 20 when his hand got caught up in the steering wheel when two cars tangled in front of him. He currently has his finger in a cast and will have it re-x-rayed next week. Cooley is currently 7th in the latest NeSmith Late Model Series standings heading into the Columbus Speedway event on Thanksgiving weekend.

November 6th, 2008 - Last weekend Eric traveled to the 34th Annual National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama. 45 Crate Late Models entered the event. Eric qualified 22nd, but they only locked the top 18 cars into the feature. Eric started 4th in the b-main and won it. He started 20th in the main event and got as high as the 9th position before two cars tangled in front of him leaving Eric with nowhere to go. As Cooley was trying to dodge the incident, he slid the rear of the car into the wall and had to call it a night. He was credited with a 19th place finish.

This coming weekend, Cooley Motorsports will be in action at Avenger Speedway in Greenville, AL at NeSmith National Crate Late Model race.

October 27th, 2008 - Eric traveled to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi over the weekend for the 14th Annual Fall Classic. With 37 Crate Late Models on hand, Cooley qualified 5th in his group in group qualifying, which earned him a 5th starting spot for his heat race. He would race his way to a 3rd place finish in the heat. His heat race finish, earned him a transfer to the feature event, where he started 12th. Cooley would have a great handling car in the main event, which allowed him to rocket his way to a solid 4th place finish against a stout field of competitors.

October 19th, 2008 - Cooley Motorsports entered the 5th Annual Cotton Pickin' 100 over the weekend in his #33c Mastersbilt Crate Late Model. Eric finished 2nd in his heat race, which earned him a transfer to the $2,000 to win main event. Eric started 11th in the feature event, and advanced to a 6th place finish by the time that the checkered flag fell on the 20 lap feature.

September 28th, 2008 - Eric competed in the 19th Annual Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi over the weekend. With 66 Crate Late Models signed in for battle, Eric won his heat race on Friday night from the third starting position. Via his win, Eric earned the second starting spot for the $2,508 to win event. Eric led the first 23 laps of the feature before contact with another car brought his night to an end.

September 21st, 2008 - Eric entered the weekly racing series event last night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Cooley was leading the third heat race in the Crate Late Model division, when he lost power forcing him to the pit area. The team was able to repair the car for the feature event, where he started last in the 21 car field. Cooley fought tooth and nail in the feature event to race his way to a 7th place finish.

September 14th, 2008 - Cooley Motorsports competed last night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Eric recorded a 3rd place finish in the Crate Late Model feature event.

September 7th, 2008 - Eric continued his hot streak last night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi, where he picked up the feature win in the Crate Late Model division. Cooley started 6th in his heat race and finished 2nd. In the feature event, he started 4th and charged his way to the feature win. The win marked his second win of the year at Columbus Speedway and his eighth win overall in 2008.

September 1st, 2008 - Eric had a busy weekend as he competed in three races in three days. Action got underway for Cooley Motorsports on Friday and Saturday at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi with the NeSmith Late Model Series. With 48 Crate Late Models on hand, Eric qualified in the 19th position. He would go on to finish 5th in his heat race, which was just short of a transfer to the feature event, so he was forced to run a consolation event. After starting second, Eric would go on to win his consolation race, and started 17th in the feature event. Eric would power his way to a 10th place finish by the time that the checkered flag fell. Via his finish Cooley moved into the 6th position in the current NeSmith point standings.

On Sunday night, the team traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway with both guns blazing as Eric was in action in both his Crate Late Model and his Late Model Stock. Eric's hard work would pay off as he would pick up the feature win in both divisions. In the Late Model Stock division, Cooley started 7th in his heat race and charged his way to the win. In the feature event, he started on the pole and led the first 6 laps before Ray Paul moved past him for the top spot. Eric would pursue Paul until lap 11, when he reassumed control of the top spot and went on to lead the last five laps of the event to take the win. In the Crate Late Model division, Eric started second in his heat race and won it, and then went on to lead all 15 laps of the feature event.

August 10th, 2008 - Eric competed at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama in his #33 Mastersbilt Late Model Stock. After having a right front flat and going over the end of the track in hot laps, Eric qualfied in the 3rd position. In the feature, he finished 3rd as well.

August 3rd, 2008 - Eric raced last night at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi with the NeSmith National Late Model Series. Eric finished 2nd in his b-main event, which earned him a 22nd starting position for the feature event. The race was scheduled for 100 laps, but was shortened by rain at lap 51 after rains moved in. Eric was credited with a 17th place finish.

July 20th, 2008 - Eric traveled to East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama last night for a $2,500 to win NeSmith National Late Model Series Event. Eric qualified 6th out of the 32 entries, which locked him into the feature event. At the conclusion of the 40 lap affair, he had advanced to a 4th place finish. Via his top five finish he received the Rookie of the Race Award and also moved into the 7th position in the NeSmith Point Standings.

July 19th, 2008 - Cooley Motorsports was in action with the NeSmith Late Model Series last night at Penton Raceway in Penton, Alabama. With 48 cars signed in for battle, Eric qualified in the 27th position. Eric finished 3rd in his heat race, which earned him a 19th starting position in the feature. Cooley would get caught up in a late race melee, and was credited with a 17th place finish.

July 12th, 2008 - Eric competed in a pair of Late Model Stock events over the weekend in his #33 Mastersbilt entry. By the time that the weekend was over he picked up a pair of second place finishes at North Alabama Speedway and Columbus Speedway.

July 5th, 2008 - Eric traveled to Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Fort Payne, Alabama for a $5,000 to win NeSmith Late Model Series event on Thursday and Friday. Eric had a great run with 40 cars on hand. He qualified in the 11th position on Thursday night, which earned him a 3rd starting position in his heat race. He would go on to finish 2nd, which earned him a 7th starting position for the feature. In the feature Cooley would advance to a 3rd place finish, which is his best of the year with the NeSmith National tour.

June 29th, 2008 - On Friday night, Cooley Motorsports was in action in his Late Model Stock at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama, where Eric won his heat race picked up a 2nd place finish in the feature event. On Saturday night, Eric competed in a $1,500 to win Crate Late Model event at Milan Motor Speedway in Milan, Tennessee. He qualified 3rd and would battle his way to a solid second place finish in the feature event. On Sunday night Cooley Motorsports was in action at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Eric started 7th in his heat race, and charged to the early lead and never looked back en route to the win. In the feature, he was leading when the tires sealed over during a late race caution.

June 22nd, 2008 - Eric competed in a pair of NeSmith National Crate Late Model Series events over the weekend. The weekend got underway with a $2,500 to win event on Friday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Cooley qualified 20th among the 36 entries on hand. Eric finished 4th in his qualifier and started 18th in the feature event. He would ultimately finish in the 15th position. On Saturday night, the tour invaded Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. Eric qualified 16th and finished 4th in his qualifier. As a result, just like the night before, he started 18th in the feature event. He was able to advance to a solid 10th place finish.

June 15th, 2008 - Eric was scheduled to compete at Columbus Speedway last night, but rains nixed the program. As a result, he traveled to North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama, where he competed in the Late Model Stock division. Eric started at the back of his heat race and advanced to a 4th place finish. In the feature, he started 7th and came away with a 6th place finish.

June 1st, 2008 - On Friday night Eric raced at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. He started 4th in the Late Model feature and finished 2nd. On Saturday night Cooley Motorsports competed at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi, where he ran 3rd in heat and started 6th in the feature before having to retire with mechanical woes.

May 25th, 2008 - Eric was scheduled to compete in a pair of NeSmith Late Model Series events over the weekend, but Friday night's event at Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia was nixed by rain. On Saturday night, Cooley Motorsports was in action at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia. Eric timed in 21st out of 27 entries. He finished 4th in his qualifier, which earned him a 17th starting position for the feature event. In the feature, Eric would advance to a 12th place finish, which allowed him to move into the 11th position in the NeSmith Late Model Series point standings.

May 18th, 2008 - Eric was in action last night in the Super Late Model division at Thunder Valley Speedway in Winfield, Alabama with his Crate Late Model. Eric timed in 3rd out of 16 entries, won the dash, and led all 20 laps of the feature to take the win.

May 11th, 2008 - Eric raced in a pair of NeSmith Late Model Series events over the weekend. The action got underway on Friday night at Southern Raceway in Hattiesburg, Louisiana. Eric qualified 22nd out of 29 entries, and finished 6th in his heat race. His heat finish earned him a 22nd starting spot for the feature event, where he charged to a 14th place finish and picked up the Hard Charger Award. On Saturday night the action shifted southwest to A1 Raceway in Slidell, Louisiana where he qualified 6th out of 32 entries. Via his qualifying effort, Eric earned a 6th starting spot for the feature event and was running 7th when he had a flat on the white flag lap. As a result, he once again finished 14th.

May 4th, 2008 - Eric was slated to compete at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Friday night, but the event was nixed by rain. Eric will be in action next weekend in a pair of NeSmith Late Model Series events at Southern Raceway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and A1 Raceway in Slidell, Louisiana.

April 27th, 2008 - Cooley was in action at Pike County Speedway in Meridian, Mississippi over the weekend for the $10,000 to win NeSmith Late Model Series event. On Friday night, Eric timed in 28th out of 51 entries, and finished 5th in heat race. His heat race finish earned him a 5th starting position in Saturday's b-main event. However, rain on Saturday forced the postponement of the event.

April 20th, 2008 - Eric was in action last night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi and came away with a 10th place finish in the Crate Late Model feature after starting 18th.

April 13th, 2008 - Eric had another great weekend. On Friday night he was in action at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama where he won his heat race and the feature event in the Late Model Stock division. On Saturday night, the team traveled to Columbus Speedway for the 16th Annual James King Memorial. Eric won his heat race and the feature event in the Late Model Stock division. He was also in action in the Crate Late Model division, where he picked up a 7th place finish. MORE

April 5th, 2008 - Eric picked up second feature win of the year by winning the main event in the Late Model Stock division at North Mississippi Speedway on Saturday night. He started fourth in his heat race and finished 2nd, which earned him a 3rd starting spot for the feature event. Cooley took the lead early in the feature and never looked back en route to the win. March 30th, 2008 - Eric competed over the weekend in his Crate Late Model at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, Mississippi. Eric won the heat race and the feature event for his first feature win of 2008. MORE

March 23rd, 2008 - Eric was in action with the NeSmith Late Model Series over the weekend at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, Alabama. After some difficulties on Friday night, Cooley utilized a provisional to start 24th in the feature on Saturday night. By the time that the checkered flag dropped, he was in the 14th position. MORE

March 17th, 2008 - Eric competed in the 2008 season opener at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday night. He started 5th in the Late Model Stock heat race and finished 2nd. In the feature, Cooley started 3rd and with 3 laps to go he was making a pass for the lead, when he had power steering problems, which caused him to fall back to a 3rd place finish. In the Crate Late Model heat race he started 7th and finished 4th. In the feature event, Cooley started 7th and finished 5th. MORE

March 8th, 2008 - Eric was slated to compete at Columbus Speedway this weekend for the 7th Annual Rebel Challenge, but Mother Nature had other ideas and the event was cancelled due to cold weather and snow. Cooley will be in action next Saturday, March 15th at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi for their 2008 Season Opener.

March 2nd, 2008 - Eric was in action last night in his #33c Mastersbilt Crate Late Model at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. He started at the rear of his heat and finished 4th. In the main event, Cooley started 8th and was passing the 4th place car, when he was caught up in a wreck and cut down a tire. Eric went to the pits and changed the tire and went back out to restart on the rear. He made his way back to a 5th place finish. MORE

February 23rd, 2008 - Last night at East Bay Raceway in Tampa, Florida, Eric timed in 16th out of 55 entries. He then went on to win the second heat race, which earned him a 12th starting spot in the feature. Eric was running strong in the feature, when he lost the spring cup which caused the shock to fall and it broke part of the nose piece off allowing mud to cover the radiator. With the radiator covered in mud, the car began to overheat and Eric was forced to retire from the event on lap 21. He was credited with a 20th place finish. Rain has once again affected the action at East Bay today with the afternoon section being rained out and after much track prep the night time portion of the event was also rained out and will not be rescheduled.
