About Brown Engineering Racing Engines
Brown Engineering Racing Engines was founded in Aberdeen, Mississippi in 1980 by Bobby C. Brown, father of Robert A. Brown. The company started small, but gradually established a large customer base. Some of the more notable customers included racers such as
Bobby Allison, Davey Allison, Grant Adcox, Red Farmer, Frank Kimmel, Dale McDowell, Steve Russell, Lake Speed,
and many others. With the growth of the company, Robert began working full time with his father after he graduated high school. In 1987, Robert became the sole owner of Brown Engineering.
Brown Engineering is still a family-owned company that is based firmly upon providing the customer with the best possible product. All customers are treated equally important, and Robert Brown believes in going above and beyond the call of duty to support all of the engines that he manufactures. Brown Engineering has a state-of-the-art complex that utilizes a full machine shop and engine facility that includes dyno testing.
Brown Engineering not only builds engines, they also support the sport that they love. Robert founded the Rebel Challenge Weekly Racing Series (RCWRS) for Super Late Models in 2005. The RCWRS is a program that allows weekly racers to compete for a large season ending point's fund. The program also helps tracks by encouraging more racers to compete each week. Brown also developed the Rebel Challenge Scholarship Race that is held the second weekend of March every year at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. The event attracts some of the best Super Late Model competitors in the nation, who all show up to support an event that provides a college scholarship for a high school student from the racing community.
Robert is married to Terrie Lynn Thompson Brown with two sons, Daniel & Christopher.
Those who help make Brown Engineering the success it is today include Bill Davis, Stephen Roberts, Mark Parker, Daniel Brown, David Vincent.
