J Via his heat race performance, Camponovo locked into the redraw for the feature, where he received the eighth starting spot for the 30 lap event. After going over the car, Camponovo would start at the tail of a b-main to shake the car down for Sunday's show. He would advance nine spots finish in the 9th position in the b-main. November 20th, 2011 - Ross made the last minute decision to enter one more event in 2011 as he traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Sunday evening for a Weekly Racing Series Event at the 3/8 mile, "Black Ice" oval. With 22 Super Late Models entered, Ross would qualify via preliminary action for the feature event before racing his way to a solid third place finish behind race winner, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, and Chad Thrash. November 5th, 2011 - Ross entered his final event of the weekend at his home track, Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), as he took part in the 5th Annual Gumbo Nationals. With a $7,000 winner's check on the line for the event, Camponovo started the weekend by advancing from the fourth starting spot to finish second in his heat race on Friday night to lock into the eighth starting spot for Saturday night's, 70 lap finale. In the feature Camponovo would quickly work his way forward as he made his presence known in the top five. He would race his way to as high as the fourth position before falling to a fifth place finish on the last lap. October 29th, 2011 - The team took their new #18 Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer Super Late Model into battle over the weekend in the 8th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin' 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). The $15,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start event saw 66 Super Late Models enter, and in time trials on Friday night Camponovo registered the 13th fastest time to earn the fifth starting spot for his heat race. In the heat he would slip backwards one spot to a sixth place finish, which relegated him to a b-main on Saturday night, where he started on the third row. In the b-main he would be unable to reach a transfer spot to the main event, and as a result his weekend came to an early end. Full results are available at www.MagnoliaDirt.com. October 22nd, 2011 - Ross returned to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) over the weekend as he entered the 17th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic, which marked his first time to ever take part in a Fall Classic. A stout field of 60 Super Late Models took part in the event, and via time trials he would earn the ninth starting spot for his heat race. He would advance to a seventh place finish in his heat, which left him short of a transfer to the feature and relegated him to starting eighth in a b-main on Saturday night. With only the top two cars transferring to the feature from the b-main, Camponovo would be unable to make up any ground, and as a result did not transfer to the main event as his weekend came to an early end. October 15th, 2011 - The team traveled to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Saturday night for a Weekly Racing Series Event to get some track time for the upcoming 22nd Annual Coors Light Fall Classic. Twenty-four cars entered the event, and after qualifying eighth fastest he started fourth in his heat before finishing fourth. As a result, he started eighth in the feature before marching ahead three spots to record a solid fifth place finish behind race winner, David Breazeale, Jason Cliburn, Brooks Strength, and Chris McElhenney. September 24th, 2011 - Ross entered the 22nd Annual Magnolia State 100 over the weekend at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), which posted a $20,011 winner's check. Fifty-three Super Late Models entered the event, and in time trials on Friday night Camponovo would qualify third fastest to earn the third starting spot for the third heat. Unfortunately he would be shuffled backwards early in the heat causing him to finish seventh, which left him starting seventh in his b-main on Saturday night. He would advance to a sixth place finish in the b-main, which earned him a starting spot on the tail of the last chance qualifier. He would advance to a fourth place finish in the last chance qualifier, but with only the top two cars moving on to the feature his weekend came to an early end. September 17th, 2011 - Ross made the long trip to North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Alabama) on Saturday night for the 7th Annual Bama Brawl. Twenty-nine cars entered the $4,000-to-win/$400-to-start event at the 1/3 mile oval. In time trials, Camponovo would qualify third fastest to lock into the sixth starting spot for the main event. As the race went green Ross quickly worked his way to the fourth position as he set his sights on third place runner, David Breazeale. After a series of early race cautions the event would endure a long green flag run as Camponovo and Breazeale began to battle side-by-side for the third spot. Ross would briefly take over the third spot before jumping the cushion, which caused him to lose a few spots. He would rebound to record a still great fifth place finish behind race winner, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Josh Putnam, and David Breazeale. Full results are available at www.NorthAlabamaSpeedway.com. September 10th, 2011 - Saturday night was a great outing for the team as Ross raced his way to his first feature win of the 2011 season by topping the action at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi). In time trials, Camponovo qualified third fastest, which resulted in him starting second in his heat race. After battling to his heat race win, Ross would start on the pole for the feature event with Bo Gordon starting alongside him. As the race went green Camponovo would quickly work his way to the top spot as he went on to claim the win over Gordon, Mike Palsini Jr., Jeff Young, and Chad Washington. Full results are available at www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net. August 27th, 2011 - The team made the last minute decision to enter a Weekly Racing Series Event on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway. After finishing third in his heat race, Ross would start third in the feature event. He would battle his way to a second place finish behind race winner, Bo Gordon. Full results are available at www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net. August 13th, 2011 - The team intended to compete at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Saturday night in a PRO Vs. SUPR event, but Mother Nature had other ideas as late afternoon rains nixed the program. July 16th, 2011 - On Saturday night Ross was in action at his home track, Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) in a $2,500 to win event. With 17 Super Late Models entered, Ross set second fast time in his group to earn the fourth starting spot in the dash for the feature. After finishing third in the dash, Camponovo locked into the third starting spot for the feature. For much of the event he would battle in the top five before slipping to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag. Full results are available at www.StateSeries.com. July 4th, 2011 - The team was slated to conclude the Three Crown Nationals on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), but rain moved in during time trials, which resulted in the event being rescheduled for Monday evening. On Monday, twenty-three Super Late Models would enter the event, and Camponovo would lock into the 13th starting spot for the 40 lap feature. Ross would race around midpack for much of the event before ultimately retiring with more mechanical issues. He was scored in the 22nd position. July 2nd, 2011 - Saturday night saw Ross make the trip to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) in the $2,000 to win, Round #2 of the Three Crown Nationals. Twenty-five Super Late Models entered the event, and the night would start well for Camponovo as he qualified fourth fastest in his group to lock into the eighth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. For the first half of the feature it appeared that Ross was on his way to a top ten finish before mechanical issues sent him pitside just past the race's midway point. July 1st, 2011 - Ross returned to action on Friday night as he took part in the opening round of the Three Crown Nationals, which was sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Series. Twenty-three Super Late Models entered the $2,000 to win event, and via preliminary action, Camponovo would start 12th in the 40 lap feature. Early in the event, Ross would race his way to as high as the 6th position before the handling began to go away on his entry, and he retired late in the race to a 17th place finish. June 25th, 2011 - Ross traveled to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) on Saturday night as he took part in the $2,500 to win, River Rumble 40 at the 1/4 mile oval. A field of twenty-four Super Late Models signed in for action, and in time trials, Ross would record the eleventh fastest time to lock into the eleventh starting spot for the feature. In the 40 lap main event, Camponovo would mount a solid run through the pack as he passed six cars on his way to a fifth place finish behind race winner, Scott Dedwylder, Cliff Williams, Chad Thrash, and Scott Creel. June 18th, 2011 - It was back to action for Ross on Saturday night as he entered a $2,500 to win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event at his home track, Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi). Nineteen Super Late Models entered the event, and after setting second fast time in his group, he would race from the fourth starting spot to claim the dash win. Via the dash win, he started on the pole for the feature, and would battle at the front of the pack for much of the event. However, the team would slightly miss the setup on the car, and he would ultimately slip to a fifth place finish behind race winner, Chad Thrash, Klint Byars, Dane Dacus, and Scott Creel. June 4th, 2011 - After more than a month of no racing action due to a continued busy family business, Ross was able to sneak in a Weekly Racing Series Event on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS). After finishing second in his heat, Camponovo started third in the feature, and would race his way to a second place finish behind race winner, Mike Palasini Jr. Full results are available at www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net. April 16th, 2011 - Despite originally not planning on racing on Saturday night due to a busy work schedule, Ross made the last minute decision to enter the $2,500 to win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi). Ross would spend much of the night battling a right front assembly that kept trying to lock up. As a result, Camponovo would fail to transfer to the feature via time trials or b-main action. He was, however, able to utilize a provisional to start the feature in the 22nd position, but would retire early in the event as he continued to battle the handling issue. April 9th, 2011 - Hopeful to put Friday night's bad luck behind him, Ross traveled to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) on Saturday night for another $2,000 to win, 35 lap event. With 30 Super Late Models entered into the event, Ross would finish third in his heat race to lock into the ninth starting spot for the main event. In the feature, Camponovo would have a good car early in the feature before the handling began to fade on his #18. He would ultimately slide backwards to a 14th place finish. April 8th, 2011 - Ross made the trip to Beebe Speedway (Beebe, Arkansas) on Friday night for the 2011 season opener for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). After his hot lap session Camponovo was eager about his chances for the night, but his hopes would be quickly erased as a mechanical failure in the first corner of his heat race brought his night to an abrupt end. April 2nd, 2011 - RC Motorsports traveled to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) on Saturday night for the 2011 Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) season opener. Thirty-three Super Late Models were on hand, and after finishing second in his qualifier, Ross locked into the 14th starting spot for the main event. He had a good car for the feature, but contact with a ute tire would bend the front end, making the car harder to drive, and he would battle it to a ninth place finish in the final rundown of the 50 lap, $2,500 to win event. March 26th, 2011 - After several unsuccessful attempts to get his season underway, Ross was finally able to enter an event as he traveled to Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) for a Weekly Racing Series Event, which served as the season opener for the facility. Twenty-one Super Late Models entered the event and Camponovo began the night by qualifying ninth fastest to earn the fourth starting spot for his heat race. He would finish fourth in the heat, which locked him into the ninth starting spot for the main event. In the 20 lap feature, Ross would mount a good run as he advanced to a sixth place finish behind event winner, Rodney Wing, Chad Thrash, Jason Cliburn, Steve Bryan, and George Paul. RC Motorsports will return to Jackson Motor Speedway next Saturday, April 2nd for a $2,500 to win, MSCCS Super Late Model event. March 12th, 2011 - Ross's plight to get his 2011 season underway continued today as the generator on the hauler blew-up as the team was finishing loading up to head to Tennessee National Raceway. As a result the team did not get to race. February 25th, 2011 - Ross had planned to open 2011 this weekend at the 1st Annual Pelican 100, but an unexpected busy work schedule with the family business forced him to skip the event.
