Locust Grove, Arkansas (7/24/09) – Bill Frye topped a field of 34 Super Late Models to claim the first night of the O’Reilly MSRA/O’Reilly MARS Super Late Model Clash at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on Friday, July 24th.

After accumulating the most passing points in heat race action, Will Vaught of Crane, Missouri set on the pole for the 30 lap feature in his #1 Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.  He was joined on the front row by Terry Phillips.  At the drop of the green flag, Vaught took control and would set the pace during the early laps.

The event’s lone caution flag would wave on lap 11 for Tony Jackson Jr., who spun.  As the race got back underway Vaught began to get heavy pressure from fifth starting, Bill Frye, and Billy Moyer.  Two circuits later, Frye would take over the top spot from Vaught and drive away from the field, en route to the $2,000 payday.  Will Vaught, Billy Moyer, Jeremy Payne, and Terry Phillips would round out the top five.

The $2,000 win marked Frye’s third triumph on the O’Reilly MSRA tour in 2009.

Heat races for the 34 car field were won by Will Vaught, Bill Frye, Billy Moyer, and Terry Phillips.
The twin b-mains were topped by Gary Christian and Kyle Beard.

O’Reilly MSRA Super Late Model provisionals were awarded to Jon Kirby and Dewaine Hottinger.
O’Reilly MARS provisionals were awarded to Eric Turner and Leroy Johnson.
Bill Frye was the COMP Cams Top Performer.

Shane Diamant claimed the Quartermaster Hard Luck Award after battling mechanical woes throughout the night.
Jon Kirby earned the Larry Shaw Race Cars Hard Charger Award after advancing from his 20th starting position to a 13th place finish.
